After driving the car for 4 years, the locks stick, making loud disturbing noises, every time the door is unlocked or locked. A few times, the car doors even unlocked and/or locked itself.

Passenger front door won't stay unlocked. After I unlock the doors, from inside the car or with the remote, the door will lock by itself.

In December, 2012 my 2008 cR-V exl began to have problems with the rear left passenger door lock. Whenever you try to lock all doors, with remote or door lock switch, the left rear door locks, and then unlocks itself. This problem has now presented itself on the right rear door with the same symptoms! It's is silly and needs to be recognized as a recall by Honda. When I called to log a complaint with American Honda, they told me that they had "never heard of this issue with any CR-V model years". I find that hard to believe with all of the complaints of faulty door locks, on this site alone.
To correct the problem, you will need to replace the faulty lock assembly. This will cost about $250 per door.

It first started with the back passenger door. It would constantly unlock while we were driving. About a month later the back driver door stated doing it and within the week the driver door started. Now none of those three doors lock and anybody can break in to our vehicle. Sometimes the dome light will stay on because it isn't registering that the doors are closed. It makes a loud awful noise when you try to lock the doors. I feel unsafe with my young children in the back now because the doors don't lock.

In March the back door and trunk locks - locked my wife could not open them. A week later the locks acted up again, but it was two different doors this time. I took it in to a dealer and they could not find anything wrong. A few days later, the problem reoccurred with 3 doors . I took it back to the dealer and they said that three locks would have to be replaced. I took the car in and then got a call from the dealer and they ended up replacing all 4 door locks. This is our second Honda and we were well satisfied, but the problem with this one is unbelievable.
Update from Nov 12, 2015: now in 2015 on our way to winter in Arizona the ac went out on our 2008 Honda CRV. We had to have the condenser and compressor replaced. It cost us 3 extra days of expenses and the cost of the repairs was $1585.11. Did we take it to a Honda dealer -- NO -- we were 250 miles from the nearest dealer and the temperature was in the high 90's. Yes, we had trouble with all 4 car locks and finally was reimbursed for the cost. Now the AC went out. We have the parts and the bill, what do we do now?. Who pays the bill this time? Yes, the car is fixed, but as I said not by a Honda dealer because there was none available and we had to get to AZ. I am a court appointed guardian to our son who lives in AZ, he was due for the next appointment with his surgeon.

I feel the car not releasing the locks is a very severe problem my daughter drives this car and hauls her grandchild around if they were to be in aan accident they would not be able to get out of thevehicle as the locks will not release. There is a very real death trap in this vehicle and it is frightening the dealer will not help. My daughter is not employed and cant afford to get this fixed what reciourse do I have from Honda repairing the vehicle?

I am experiencing a power door locking problem with the back seat / passenger side door lock. The power locking system keeps trying to lock the door while driving and it produces a constant clicking sound. I am unable to secure my door. From my research, it appears that I have a bad actuator and this is a common problem for Honda CR-V's. The local Honda dealership wanted $100 just to diagnose this issue...which is just highway robbery considering they are well aware of the issue. I will be taking it to my local car shop for repair next week.
