problem #1

CR-V L 2,4

  • Automatic transmission

Two of the studs in the right motor mount bracket worked out of the timing cover. The third stud broke. The engine dropped and the CV boot retainer clamp was torn off. I could not drive the car. I checked with the Ford dealer and they claimed they never heard of the problem. I checked the holes in the timing chain cover and one was stripped the other was ok and the third had the broken stud. Ford wanted $1000 to replace the timing chain cover and the studs. I ended up using Time-serts to redo the holes in the cover and replaced the studs. Ford charges $28 for EACH stud. Good bye Ford .
