CR-V 2008 running rough on Highway driving to work; oil light came on and off; car serviced regularly as per HONDA policies. Spark plugs changed, oil ring changed, valves cleaned, ignition coils fine paid $$$$ and now informed need a new timing chain, $$$$ again. Honda web site says " timing chain made to last the life of the CR-V 2008. I have 161,000 km mainly highway driving. Had A/C replaced summer 2014 because the A/C did not work at all.
Should I have my car serviced somewhere else other than the dealership? Is it something else other than the timing chain that could go wrong with engine light on?
