CR-V EX 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 132,000 miles

When I step on the gas pedal whole car starts shaking. I have replaced Axles, Axle support, Harmonic Balancer, New Tires. Not fixed, then I found a bulletin on Honda that I need to replace Torque converter. I called Honda to assisting me I have answered by couple customer service who are not knowledgeable and giving me false information and rejecting the assistance for replacement of Torque Converter.

CR-V

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,001 miles

My CRV also vibrates when still cold while I slowly accelerate. Honda says they have never seen or heard of that problem, yet on this site I see a lot of people who experience this problem. My mechanic has no idea what it is. He called Honda but to no avail. I already spent quite a bit of money at the garage looking for what is causing this vibration. I think Honda should seriously do something about this problem that is getting worse, for me anyway.

If someone has an idea how to have this vibration fixed, I would really appreciate your input. Thank you

Update from Sep 3, 2018: Fortunately I bought a prolonged warranty when I bought my CRV. They told me that I had to go to Honda and go through the required steps to start with which are transmission oil changed and transmission reprogrammed. It's been done 1 week ago and the vibration is gone for now. Honda knows about this problem and they agree that if the problem comes back they will have to change the '' torque converter''

CR-V Don't Know Don'T Know

  • Automatic transmission
  • 189,000 miles

6 months ago, my 2012 Honda CR-V started vibrating or jiggling when it hits about 30-40 mph; once you accelerate higher, it stops but the minute you decrease your speed, it starts shaking again. Very irritating and disappointing....I have always taken it to the Honda place for regular oil changes and they offered to change the transmission fluid 3 times in a row at one appointment (???) and do a computer update to hopefully fix the problem but they said no guarantee; can't afford that if not a sure fix; I would have liked to have kept this Honda for longer and then traded for something bigger but now, I may look at another brand. Very disappointed in my CR-V.

CR-V EX-L 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,000 miles

Same exact problem as the other person reported: The vehicle shakes, vibrates or wobbles when accelerating in low gears. It stops when easing up on the gas pedal. It typically occurs when the vehicle shifts (automatic transmission) between the 1st and 2nd gears. The whole car shakes. The only way to stop it is by removing foot from gas pedal or accelerating car quickly to higher speed. The issue affects the ability to safely accelerate to proper speed. Begins when accelerating from a stopped position all the way up until car reaches about 40-45 miles per hour. Occurs on all types of road conditions but is very pronounced when driving on a flat surface.

I have taken my vehicle to be serviced at the Honda of the Avenues and I was told it was resolved. It hasn't been resolved and I have been traveling so I haven't had the chance to take it back. I am up to date with all my oil changes and maintenance.

I see that I am not the only one with this issue with my 2012 Honda CRV as others with the same vehicle are complaining online. This should be part of a recall service. I am going to report it to the News to see if they will investigate it.

CR-V LX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,000 miles

This problem started probably about 6 months ago at approximately 60,000 miles. As acceleration reaches close to 30 mph, the car starts shuddering and then stops shuddering shortly thereafter on continued acceleration.

This is an almost constant problem.

Update from Jul 26, 2018: Does anyone have any update on this problem? My car seems to be getting worse, and my mechanic says he thinks it’s a transmission problem but he wouldn’t know where to start. Haven’t taken it to Honda because whatever they do will cost a fortune and most likely not solve the problem.

CR-V 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

Our car started vibrating during light acceleration between 20-30 mph just over 40,000 miles (warranty). This vibration is very noticeable around town while running errands. The WHOLE CAR SHAKES! If pushed hard on the accelerator the issue does not happen, for instance when going on the freeway.

We found a Service Bulletin #15-086 dated August 18, 2016 thanks to our mechanic, currently Feb. 2017. However when we called the dealership where the vehicle was purchased, we were told that Honda has taken the Service Bulletin down because they found the recommended Software Update and replacement of the A/T fluid, was not found to solve the problem. So he said there was nothing to be done to fix this issue. They know there is a problem, and yet NO SOLUTION.

So here we are stuck with a vehicle that we bought for the Honda brand and yet if we want to sell it, test driving it will reveal its major issue and we will not get Blue Book value for it. BAD RETURN ON INVESTMENT. So really I will have to drive this car around, vibrating all over town, even though my family has now outgrown it, and not be able to upgrade fairly to a bigger car. I wanted a Pilot, but Honda's lack of concern over this apparent issue does not instill buyers trust in them again. More like buyers remorse.
