seats very hard; like sitting on concrete block; hurts back

The seats in this car are HORRIBLE but the dealer only allowed me a very short test drive. I traded in an 2000 Astro van that had seats like a recliner; I could drive it 12 hours without any problem.

These Honda seats are hard as a concrete block; 15 minutes is about all I an stand. I put a 4" cushion on it and that makes it bearable but barely.

From what I have read this has been an ongoing problem with all Hondas for years and it's still a problem in the 2017s!

They should be forced to replace every seat in ever car or forced out of business.

I purchased a used 2013 Honda CR-V under warranty. When my 2010 Nissan Rouges CVT transmission had to be replaced at 80,000 miles, I knew I needed a new car. So I chose a Honda..my first and last one. This car is extremely uncomfortable. I drive over 60 miles a day to school and work so I noticed this my first day. My back had spasms and my legs were cramped and aching.

The most annoying part about driving this car is your foot goes behind the e-brake..why? I am only 5'1 and this car does not let my legs hang comfortably.every passenger I have had says the seating is uncomfortable. I know I only purchased this car for the reliability, but I thought Honda would be more a lot better. I cannot wait to get rid of this car within the next few months! Never ever again Honda!

My Honda CRV EX-L has the leather seats and they are not comfortable, more like a hard bench than a what you would expect in an expensive car. For a trip to the grocery store, it is not an issue. The problem is on a long trip, you literally do have a "pain in the ass" because the seats are so hard. My husband and son bring a foam cushion to sit on when we go somewhere. We all have back pain, and riding in my car makes it much worse. The seats are very attractive, but definitely not comfortable on trips longer than 30 minutes.

Probably will not buy another Honda until they make the seats more comfortable. This CR-V is our 6th Honda. While I love the reliability of these cars, this one is just too uncomfortable. I also have two friends who decided against buying Hondas because the seats are so uncomfortable. The headrest causes most of the problem. They make it IMPOSSIBLE to sit up straight.

The seats in my 2013 Honda ( brought new ) are really uncomfortable, in Australia we have the "Drive, revive, survive program, I believe that the seats in my CRV are/were designed as part of that safety campaign because the campaign requires you to stop every 2 hours to revive, and believe me, after nigh on 2 hours in those seats you really have to stop. The vehicle itself I can't be happier with, but ....those seats. Had I have known I would not have brought it as I do quiet a bit of driving around outback NSW and all I do is squirm around on the seat, as does my wife.

MY WIFE AND I TOOK OUR 2013 CRV ON A 41/2 HOUR TRIP TO THE GRAND CANYON. THIS WAS OUR FIRST LONG TRIP WITH THE VEHICLE. WITHIN AN HOUR MY NECK AND SHOULDERS WERE STIFF. I TRIED REMOVING THE HEADREST. THIS MADE THE SYMPTOMS BETTER. I FELT UNSAFE WITHOUT A HEADREST, SO I REINSTALLED IT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE STIFFNESS IN MY NECK AND SHOULDERS RETURNED. THE SEATS WERE SO UNCOMFORTABLE THAT I AM CURRENTLY SURFING THE INTERNET FOR AFTERMARKET SEATS.

The driver seat causes pain in my right leg. Unfortunately, dealership does not see that as multiple issues with this seat. It's hard, the right side of the seat (right corner), higher then left corner. This is a poorly ergonomically designed seat causing pain in my right leg, toes numbness and many other issues if you driving this car longer then 30 minutes. I thought it's only my problem, I guess not.

What is interesting all Honda cars starting 2011 having same issues. Tried other models of the Honda and got same issue. Tried Honda 2007, 2008 and 2009 and I got no issues. This seat designed for tall people only. It does not matter what you will do, there is no possible solution to adjust this car. I guess I have to grow and be taller. I was purchasing 3 cars from Honda before and this time it would be my last car.

The seats in the Honda CR-V are the most uncomfortable seats we have ever had to sit on traveling. My wife had brain surgery and has back problems. It takes her about an hour to get to work. When she gets there her back and neck hurt really bad. Same thing when she gets back home. If Honda doesn't replace the seats then we will have to lose thousands of dollars because I can't have her driving in pain all the time. Shame on you Honda for putting such bad seats in these cars.

Her legs are long and the seats are so short she gets no thigh support. I hope Honda will help us some how so we don't have to purchase anther car because of this. No car over 20k should have bad seats.

As others have mentioned, seats are hard. I've had front and back passengers make comments. But main purpose is driving - also as others have mentioned... My right leg will end up feeling fatigued and I'll have a pain all the way down to my foot. Kind of restless in a way. It wasn't so bad, then for some reason I feel like I've been fighting with the settings on a regular basis. I've probably adjusted my seat 80 times the last week trying to get it just right, up, down, forward, backward, seat back up, seat back down, and even lumbar.

Like this car very much, but only after I had to drive it daily did I realize how bad my tailbone would hurt after driving in it for just an hour or so. Mentioned it to my wife who immediately confirmed my suspicion. She did not want to say anything before because we just bought a new car, how could the seats be bad?

She has had back problems over the years and just thought it was her. Also confirmed this problem with my carpool friends. There is something about the seat that puts pressure on your tailbone. You quickly develop a burning sore pain. Called a local shop that deals with the Hondas and they confirmed that they have "fixed" this problem for others. They never came back so he assumes he fixed the problem or they sold the car. This is where we are headed.

I see where one of the seams of the leather seat bottom is about three inches or so from the seat back. Right where your tailbone would ride????? I Put a cushion on the seat when driving, burning sore sensation stopped immediately. We are both of slim build and this may not be a problem for someone with more meat on there bones. We also have a 2013 Ford Fusion with cloth seats and these are like riding on air compared to the Hondas. My wife is mad and almost forced me into trading this car in on another Ford, so if the upholstery guy doesn't do some magic this car is history as is any future Honda products. No car is perfect but the ergonomics of this seat is terrible, how did Honda not notice this?

I have a 2013 Honda CR-v EL-X. The front driver's seat is extremely uncomfortable. After short rides - 15 minutes - I have pain in my right butt extending down to my foot.

I need powerful pain killer medication and have just had an MRI which shows damage to my lower spine. An evaluation by a spine surgeon has been scheduled. If I do not drive for a few days the pain lessens considerably but a short trip will bring the pain back.

The seat bottom angle cannot be changed, forcing your butt back into a depression where, at the rear stitching, it feels like you are sitting on s steel rod.

After reading of similar complaints ranging back many years, it seems that Honda should have by now fixed this problem.

I will never, ever, buy or recommend a Honda.

My husband and I traded in my beloved 1999 Honda Accord in 1/2013 due to an emissions test failure. I've always wanted a CR-V but never wanted to part with our Accord. It was the best car I've ever owned. We drove it to three corners of the U.S., it survived many a cold, snowy Chicago winter, even parked outside constantly it ALWAYS started.

Now we have the CR-V and it is a lovely car. It handles well, good cargo space and the hands free is awesome but the drivers seat is horrible. I made the decision that it's now my husbands car since I can no longer take the right leg pain after driving it, even short distances. I've tried every seat position-low, high, back, close. I've changed the steering wheel tilt but the part of the seat that you sit on is TOO LONG. When I sit the end of the seat ends at the back of my knee. I'm 5'5" so I'm a little taller than average for a woman. The seats in my 1999 Accord had a shorter bottom and were never an issue except if they were clean or not. My leg is now constantly hurting like a Sciatica pain with numbness like my circulation is being cut off. I can feel it down my leg to my foot and my knee hurts.

I don't know if they made this style of seat for tall men but it doesn't work for me. If my husband doesn't want to take it over as his car then I'm going to trade it for something else because I can no longer drive it. I spend every car ride trying to adjust my seat and there is no comfortable position because the seat is too long. The only way to fix this is to have a completely new style of seat like they used to use in older models.

Love my new CR-V and unfortunately only test drove the EX which has cloth seats. Since taking delivery of my EX-L with leather seats, I haven't been able to get comfortable in them unless I use a seat cushion. The way the EX-L leather seats are designed, there are two horizontal hard/rigid seams on the seat bottom.

Unless you have a lot of padding in the old buttocks, you can feel that seam digging into you. I have to strategically position my butt between the two seams for any kind of comfort. I've had back pain since I've bought the vehicle.

A seat cushion for $30 helps but then that takes away from the nice heated seats feature the EX-L comes with. So Honda could have definitely done a better job in designing the leather seats and how they are stitched. It definitely has taken away from my enjoyment of this otherwise great vehicle.

I have owned Honda's for 12 years. I was in a beautiful Honda Accord, and loved it except I was having difficulty getting in and out, so when the opportunity presented itself to trade it in and get a CR-V (my daughter has one), I took it.

Within less than a week, I knew the driver's seat was literally a pain in the a.. I bought a gel cushion, but that didn't fit right. I purchased another seat cover that included heat and massage, but again, didn't fit right. I let my salesperson know, (he has sold me my last 4 vehicles), and he said he had never heard that complaint.

I have spent hours driving to different stores and researching on internet for a seat cushion. When I get out of the vehicle, my sciatica hurts so bad and it feels like my bottom is on fire...Ugh!!!! My salesperson called me today and offered me a way out of car which would cost me more $$ per month, and I'd be worse off than I was before I traded my Accord in.

CRV seats are evil!!!
