2013 Honda CR-V. On cross country trip engine lost all power at highway speed in the mountains, RPM went to idle but engine stayed running so power steering worked, and check engine light came on. After pulling over to shoulder engine quit but would re-start running very rough with no power. Towed to Honda dealership where it was diagnosed with no compression on #4 cylinder, and piston rods and valves damaged. Lower core block being replaced under warranty.
Car was bought new and fully maintained and I've owned Hondas since 1979 so know how to keep them running for long miles. Car has 34,000 miles on it and is wife's car so am concerned about long term consistent reliability and warranty. In all the Honda cars I've had never had one with any significant problems and certainly not with the engine. There is a notice out on the computer needing an update patch for the battery charging system but dealer says mine has already got patch.
