Bought a nice little SUV with EPA rating of 26 to 31 mpg. On board computer and manual calculations show a steady 20/21. Asked for dealer help 3 times to no avail.......dealers say auto is fine, but the 75 year old driver who drives less than 6000 miles per year on " ECO ", tries to hold under 2000 RPM, doesn't race, keeps tires properly inflated, drives mostly with no or one passenger, doesn't leave car idlng etc, is to blame.
Given my low usage @ 60% non expressway.... I had expected overall mpg to be about 23 to 26 ..... but not 20mpg !!!! The CRV gives great mpg at 55 to 65, but does horribly in stop and go. Car magazines read before and after my purchase get much better mpg ( as per EPA numbers ).
Can anyone help? Or is my only solution to go to SKYACTIV?
