I bought my 2014 Honda CRV in October 2016 and have had nothing but trouble with the headlights. When I first got the car, the low beams were okay, but the high beams were up in the trees. I went to a mechanic to have the light bulbs shifted downward. The low beams were then too close to my field of vision (I couldn't see the road curve in pitch black night), and the high beams were where the low beams were supposed to be. What was I supposed to do, drive with the high beams on all the time, as if I had my low beams on? I decided to get brighter bulbs. The same mechanic shifted the new lights up slightly. It is not completely his fault, but this didn't make the problem better. The low beams were bright enough to shine on the road, but the main beams were up and straight ahead instead of being aimed at the road at a distance. The high beams are back up in the trees again!
Why did Honda do this? Even if the high beams were angled correctly, they still wouldn't be bright enough. Wouldn't it make sense to keep the low beams on at the same time with the high beams? I am very upset about this and am very worried about driving at night. Thanks Honda, for making me feel SUPER safe in your lightless vehicle.
If I could somehow be in the car while the lights were being shifted, that would be super helpful. I am extremely irritated with this. I wish I had checked carcomplaints.com before I had gotten a Honda CRV. I never thought of checking to make sure the headlights were sufficient to my needs.

The low beam system with driving lights on does a very good job of lighting up the road surface. When you change to high beam, there is a large area ahead of you that has poor lighting. This makes it very hard to see and road hazard in that area. The light beam is too high and does not light up the roadway.
