CR-V Touring 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 47,701 miles

Just got this certified 2015 Honda CR-V 1 week ago. I'm having vibration issues - up above 60mph, the vibration is felt in steering wheel, armrest and seat, and when letting off gas an even stronger vibration. I took it back into dealership 2 days later, they balanced tires and said it was fixed, so we left, and on the way home, noticed same vibration, and an added rattling coming from back of car now. Then I got sick, so I didn't drive for a couple of days, and on the way to work this morning, down winding back roads, going around a curve, I let off gas, and then the engine accelerated and revved up and I had to hit the brakes. I am terrified to drive this car now, and am hoping to return it to dealership and get out of this deal.

CR-V 2WD LX

  • CVT transmission
  • 4,600 miles

Driving car, came to a red light. As I sat waiting, the engine was idling at around 800 rpm. Without warning, engine was revving at 2,000 rpms and car was vibrating. Lifted my foot slight off the brake pedal and re-applied with force - idling returned to 800 rpm and vibration, noise stopped. Am taking vehicle today 4/6/2017 to dealer for oil change and inspection.

CR-V 2WD LX

  • CVT transmission
  • 3,000 miles

This was the first time the problem occurred. The car was making a loud noise, with excessive rpms while in a idle situation (waiting on light). Went one block to second red light and it happened again. Car vibrated excessively and engine was over revving. Took immediately to dealer. The dealer senior service tech took test ride with me and he experienced the loud noise and vibration - of course not as severe when I drove it before. He took the vehicle home with him that night and had no issues. I contacted Honda America and they recommended a TSB be applied but the dealer had previously already had applied to my vehicle.

Update from Apr 6, 2017: I selected wrong excessivecategory - unintended acceleration. Vehicle never moved but vibrated and excessive rpms.

All (3) complaints are the same.

CR-V

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,000 miles

Purchased Honda crv new in 2015. On Dec 22nd 2016 I was in stop and go traffic. After easing up 2 or 3 times I barely touched the accelerator and my car shot forward and crashed into the car in front of me. This was followed by the engine revving after the crash. The CRV was totalled and I sustained serious bruising from the seat belt and air bag. Fortunately the expedition and driver that was involved sustained no injuries and minor damage.

CR-V EX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,131 miles

I tried to park my car in a parking space situated in higher by street level. The space had a cement wheel stop and a 2 foot wall stone wall behind it, followed by a 2 foot patch of grass, which ended at the edge of a four foot high retaining wall abutting the street. I applied my brake as I pulled into the parking space. Instead the car accelerated, vaulting me in a terrifying ride over the initial 2 foot wall, the patch of grass and launching the car off the four foot retaining wall to the street below. The undercarriage was badly damaged.

CR-V EX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

I've read thru the complaints on this site about increase in RPM's for NO REASON on the CR-V. I can attest that in fact is happening to my vehicle as well. I took a trip this past weekend and noticed that when traveling downhill and applying the brake the RPM's on my CR-V would INCREASE from 2500 to 3500 for no reason at all. I would release my foot from the brake...then reapply my foot to the brake in order to force the engine to stop doing that. This problem occurred during my entire trip, and caused major concerns.

I have scheduled an appointment at my local dealership this weekend to bring this issue to their attention and also for documentation purposes.

I've also noticed major engine vibration while at low RPM's (400-700). I brought this to the attention of my service adviser at my local dealership and they responded with "you need to use better gas".

I previously owned a 2012 CR-V and NEVER had these types of issue's.

CR-V EX AWD 2.5L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 1,545 miles

We bought our sixth -- and last -- new Honda in March 2015. We drove the CRV-EX AWD just 1,600 miles before trading it for a 2015 RAV4 because we experienced unexpected acceleration on several occasions and received no help from Honda. I was stunned. I couldn't believe how a longtime loyal Honda owner could be treated so poorly by Airport Honda in Tennessee and American Honda. I wanted American Honda to buy it back and told the representative that I would gladly pay for the mileage. Here's what happened: I took the car to Airport Honda on Aug. 26 so they could check it out. Since the problem was intermittent, I halfway expected that they wouldn't find a problem, especially given the way they treated me upon arrival. Despite showing them Internet reports of unexpected acceleration in CR-Vs, they said that they had never heard of such a problem. I explained that there's no way I would make this up since it caused me a lot of trouble taking off work and driving 40 miles (round trip) so they could see if they could "replicate" (wink, wink) the problem. The best I could get was a car that functioned properly. After keeping the car for two days, of course they told me the car was fine. So when it became obvious that the service department was of no use, I tried to trade the car for either a 2016 Pilot or another CR-V, although that prospect scared me somewhat because I didn't know if I could trust another CR-V. They said they'd call me with a trade figure, but they never did as they obviously didn't want the absolutely pristine gray CR-V with the added $500 options of a hood deflector, mud flaps and a sunroof visor -- all genuine Honda parts installed by Airport Honda. I called them back and spoke to Bruce Wayne (no kidding), and he wouldn't provide a trade figure many hours after he said they'd have those numbers in a few minutes. In the end, I lost several thousand dollars and all respect I had for American Honda and Airport Honda. Our RAV4 with a conventional six-speed transmission is rock solid and the dealer, Fox Toyota, is perhaps the most honest and best in America. Reports of Honda's decline certainly don't seem to be exaggerated based on my experience. Oh, and I forgot to mention how the CR-V's engine sent vibrations through the cabin with the car in drive and the brake pedal depressed. Airport Honda acknowledged that problem but said there isn't a fix at this time. Anyway, I just hope no one gets killed in a CR-V when it takes off.

Update from Nov 5, 2015: In addition to the unintended acceleration -- something Airport (Tenn.) Honda refused to acknowledge -- my 2015 CR-V EX AWD also had vibration issues. Honda told me it is working on a fix, but there obviously isn't a fix. Honda owners just have to live with it. Seriously? Honda has gone from the best to an automaker near the bottom of the pile. Pathetic.

There is NOT a fix, so the next question -- "Has the fix or solution change?" -- is moot.
