problem #2

Jan 012016

CR-V ES 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 125 miles

This is my wife's vehicle. It's now 4 years old with 12,000 miles on it. She took it in to Dealer twice & got glad-handed. So since she just putts-putts around town with it she just deals with the hesitation at start-up. I drove it 20 miles on the Interstate & found it downright dangerous. It actually stalled when trying to make a lane change. So I took it to the Dealer & I got greased... "Tech test drove & failed to duplicate... yadda".

"You ARE aware that this is a Continuously Variable Transmission are you not? It just takes some getting used to..."

Solution: When I now have Interstate driving to do, I just drive my '96 Cherokee with 182,000 miles on it. It's the SUV that Honda tried to copy with the CRV, but failed miserably.

CR-V

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50 miles

Not a consistent problem, but when it happens it can be dangerous. All of a sudden, when I need the car to accelerate, it hesitates. Very dangerous when trying to merge into traffic or change lanes. Dealership told me that was just the way this car is.
