CR-V EX 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 57,000 miles

It set a power steering code again, no powering. Turned it off for a few minutes and restarted it, no power steering light and it is working again. For how long?

Update from Mar 12, 2019: Dealer couldn't find a problem. It happened half dozen more times over three weeks. Took it to another dealer he said a rodent chewed on wiring, fixed the wiring and it is working fine again.

CR-V EXL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

Wiring insulation is soy based, rodents love to eat it and will cause the wiring to fail. Honda knows this is a problem and will not cover under warranty and has not properly addressed the problem. My daughter cannot afford to keep replacing wiring or who knows what next because the car is edible to rodents.

CR-V EX 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

Electric Power Steering completely broken, car brought brand new, only 6k miles currently - owned 6 months. Car completely undrivable. Wires are coated in soy so rodents eat wires, Honda admitted to this happening to MANY people but will not take fault. Not safe to drive, cannot turn wheel. Had to get car towed to dealership, they will not provide rental. Not covered under warranty. Will be out of a vehicle for a week and have to pay $400 for the fix.
