Several months ago my 2017 Honda CRV stopped blowing cold air when A/C is on. There is also hissing sound coming from the dash board area whenever the A/C is turned on. Finally decided to take to the HONDA dealer, in League City Texas, where i bought the car, and they checked it out and said the noise was coming from the fact that there is a seal leak on the compressor. A seal leak on the compressor and cost would be around $1700 to fix as they would have to buy a new compressor and charge ($900) labor ($800). The car only has 42000 miles on it.
Of course I am told I'm no longer under warranty (warranty ended at 36,000) and that I should have bought the extended warranty. How the heck is there a seal leak on the compressor for a car just 4 years old? So if there is a seal leak on the compressor, why not just replace the seal, as opposed to buying a new compressor? HONDA HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO... CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO SERVICE. HONDA DEALER, NO DEAL!
