One evening when I started my car, lots of warning signs of the "Integrated Driver Support System" were flashing with noises. ACC, LKSA, Road Departure Mitigation and Collision Mitigation Braking System all showed problems. I drove home, tried to stop and start a couple of times, hoping the signs would go off. Instead, the control panel went blank. So I sent the car to my service people at Honda dealer.

The diagnosis was that the Multipurpose Camera Unit Internal Electronic Failure and Millimeter Wave Radar Local-CAN Malfunction. The warrantee is 36,000 miles. My car had 39,071. The price to fix them is $2442.36. But then the warrantee is only 1 year or 10,000 miles, which ever comes first. The service person told me that he did not observe any physical damage of the camera which is unusual for this type of problems. They could reset the control panel. I said I have to think about it since it is a lot of money and the new warrantee is so bad that there is a risk that I need to replace the system again after a year.

And then ... I also asked if they can just turn off the signs so I could just drive without the system. I was told they cannot. I drove the car home. The next day those signs disappeared when I started my car. However, this good luck unfortunately lasted only a couple of days. Today the warning signs come back again, flashing and dinging. I would say I driving was a little more than interesting.

After searching online, I found out this problem is not just for me. The system is just not reliable. I am afraid that to fix the problem I will be like pour my money down the plug hole. I wish I never bought this car. Both my husband and myself are long time Honda owners. Never thought this could happen.

Dealer says problem is caused by missing cooling blade behind grill in front of car. Only way to fix is to replace blade and re-calibrate computer system. Dealer says not under warranty because missing blade caused malfunction and I have to pay approximately $1000. This happened twice before I could get it to the dealer for repair.
