Random electrical issues. The dashboard lights will all flash, and different errors appear. The headlights will turn on on their own. The car goes on into accessory mode on it's own, even if you are not in the car. The alarm starts ringing on it's own. The battery eventually drains because things are left on even when you think you have turned the car off and parked it. The only way to work around this is to disconnect the battery every time you park the car.
Dealership tells me it sounds like a bad BCM - body control module.
Replacement part and programming will be close to $1,000 Canadian.
Replacement part is on back-order (too many complaints I guess).
This is ridiculous. In all my years of driving I've never heard of someone replacing their computer. But with a little Googling I can see many 2017/2018 Honda CRV owners complaining about the same problem.

My 2017 Honda CR-V was displaying an error, keyless entry system problem. It started with the car alarm going off in the middle of the night and the vehicle would not respond to either key fob. I had to use the manual key to unlock the door, which silenced the alarm. The car then seemed to be cycling ACC power on and off on its own. I turned it on and it continued flashing Keyless entry system problem. It then would not turn off when I pushed the start/stop button while I had it parked in my garage. I pulled it outside as I was concerned of carbon monoxide build up in my home. It finally turned off after about 30 minutes and pressing the start/stop button many times. This happened several times even after I replaced batteries in both key fobs.
I took the vehicle in to the dealer and paid a diagnostic fee. They stated the BCM keyless entry unit was faulty. l did ask if it was on any open recalls but the service advisor said my VIN was not included in a recall regarding this issue. I feel this is a serious safety concern and was surprised it was not on any open recalls. I had to have the BCM unit replaced and reprogrammed to key fobs at a cost of about $850. The issue seems resolved for now.
