ALL dash lights came on and it showed all safety systems had faults. Took it to the dealership and was told I needed injectors. I have looked into this issue and many CR-V models have had warranty extensions for this exact issue. Lucky me mine is not one of the one's in the VIN group for this extension. So I am facing a $2,000 bill. The car is still driveable but its hard to feel safe with random dash lights coming on.

Engine was overheating due to a defective head gasket. -??The head gasket provides a seal that keeps that pressure contained within the engine-??s cylinder. The head gasket also provides a seal for internal engine water and oil passages-?? (Honda). I have found hundreds of others with similar defects for the Honda 2017-2018 1.5L engines. I had no warning until the engine was too hot and the car alerted me to pull over to cool the engine. Car is regularly serviced by Honda dealership.

Sudden loss of power. Unable to accelerate. Car towed to Honda dealer who confirmed blown turbo and likely internal engine damage. This was the first year the turbo 4 was installed in the Honda CR-V and this problem has been reported previously. We were led to believe from Consumer Reports that Honda had extended the warranty on cars with this engine, but dealer said no.

Fuel injectors have failed on this car 2x before it has hit 120k miles. First was at 50k ish. Honda will not acknowledge this as an issue, even though it is an extremely common issue with all of the 1.5L engines on civics, accords and their other cars in this engine type. My mechanic has checked the service records and the most common issue with these cars, and this is a super common issue, always requiring fuel injectors to repair it. Car idles very very badly when started, and should not be having all of these issues on a well-maintained 8 year old car. It causes a check engine light to appear and an -??emissions system issue-?? warning to appear on the car. It-??s only been 3/4 years with the 2nd set of injectors (which were replaced under my optional extended warranty on the car, purchased through Honda). But I was not warned that this was a common issue until going to an independent service technician when my check engine light came on. I

I have had my car taken to Honda dealerships with an issue of all my warning lights would come on. No one has been able to fix the issue. The spark plugs, battery, air filters, have been replaced and diagnostic tests were done. The warning lights would stop for a couple of months and then start again. The last time all the warning lights came on my car began to stall and not got over 8 - 10 mph when I would start to drive. I would pull over, turn off my car, restart, then it would be ok to drive. The part that scared me was when I was on a busy highway, traveling close to 65 - 70 mph and my car stalled/lost power. Thankfully, I was able to pull to the side of the highway without getting myself or anyone hurt. I have since stopped driving on the highway. The last mechanic (Honda certified) has told me my head gasket needs replaced. Not something I would expect but it does explain a lot of the issues I have been having. My car is parked until I am able to get it repaired.

2017 HONDA CRV had several warning lights came on and dealer indicated it was fuel injection problem. Dealer charged $ 1500 and fixed problem. Again this year same warnings light came on. Dealer is indicating it's due to Timimg chain issue and dealer wants to pull parts from Engibe to see what the problem is and depending on what the problem is fix it. Dealer wants to charge more money depending on what they find and is high cost item. Delaer is not specific.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic; however, while at the shop, the vehicle failed to start. The mechanic determined that the battery had failed, and the battery was replaced. The contact stated that within a week, the warning lights returned. The vehicle was returned to the mechanic to be diagnosed and it was determined that the spark plugs were all black. The mechanic then performed a tune-up on the vehicle; however, within a week, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with a misfire. The contact was informed that three fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall or covered under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. Vehicle unexpectedly begins to start flashing all warning systems while simultaneously losing excessive power. Unexpected ADAS system malfunction may cause the vehicle to break unexpectedly creating unsafe conditions or driving hazards for driver, passengers and others on the road. There is a significant loss of power, again, creating dangerous conditions while driving through busy traffic at high speeds or driving uphill. - Hill Start Assist Problem - Adaptive Cruise Control - Collision Mitigation System - Road Departure Mitigation System - Electric Parking Brake - Tire Pressure Monitor - Emissions system - All Wheel Drive - Brake System Problem - Brake Hold - Power Steering System - Vehicle Stability Assist Attempts to resolve issue Attempt # 1: Honda did a software update, resolved the issue for about four-five months (December 2020).... Mileage 49,504 # 2: Replaced Battery and Spark Plugs (April 2021) # 3: Appointment Scheduled for May 12th, 2021.... Mileage 54,330 #4: Disconnected battery mileage 96,000+ #5: New Spark plugs and new battery mileage 97,000+ The first time this occurred I was driving with my wife and two children. We were traveling down hill, a narrow road which is steep and has any sharp turns. As the system failures began to light up the car became extremely unsafe. There was very little control of the brake system as well as the steering system. Fortunately we avoided a potentially deadly scenario. Once we came to to level terrain where we could eventually slow down enough to stop the car, it was shuttering the whole way until we found a safe spot to pull over nearby. The car was then towed and serviced by Honda of Ithaca (Ithaca, NY). That same dealer said the resolved the issue with confidence, that it just needed a software upgrade. The concern here is that there seems to be no resolution for this issue and no warning as to when this could and seems to be will happen again.

I replaced fuel injectors in my 2017 honda crv in September 2024 at Northtown Honda in Buffalo, NY. In November 2024 my girlfriend was driving the vehicle in Michigan and the car slowed down to below 20 mph on the highway and flashed all dashboard warning lights, what Honda refers to as "limp mode". This almost caused her get hit by a semi truck. The car was towed to Honda of Grand Blanc and I was told it needs a new turbo. The turbo was replaced and then in December 2024 the car again broke down while I was visiting Toronto, Canada. I had to pay for a tow back to Northtown Honda where I was informed that the vehicle needs a new engine and turbo. I have taken very good care of my vehicle, always done proper maintenance and oil changes. This model is known for some oil dilution problems and I was never informed of that from Northtown Honda where I regularly maintenance my vehicle. The car is currently at Northtown Honda as they told me the bill is around $12k and I can't afford to pay that.

Well maintained vehicle with less than 86,000 miles and all 4 fuel injectors failed, causing check engine light, which caused all assistive device systems to turn off (collision avoidance, abs, traction control, etc.). In researching the issue, these injectors are failing in this make/model frequently at mileages well before you would expect a fuel injector to wear out, suggesting there is a defect in the injectors used in this model year CRV.

The vehicle has a consistent problem where all dashboard warning lights come on at the same time, sometimes when this happens the vehicle enters what they call limp mode and won't go above 10-20 mph. This occurred multiple times to me and recently on the highway where a tractor trailer almost hit my vehicle because of the loss of speed with no brake lights. It has been to multiple honda dealerships where most recently I was told it was fuel injectors. I replaced the fuel injectors and it happened again this time the dealership told me to replace the turbo. Did that and on the way home from the dealership the lights come back on. There should be a class action law suit against honda for this common issue that they don't take seriously. Wait until someone actually is hurt by this problem.
