CR-V Touring 1.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,775 miles

I am an intensely dissatisfied Honda customer. Bought a brand new CRV Touring 4 months ago. Suddenly the oil warning light came on after only 2800km on the clock! The dipstick showed oil was above the bottom mark. I phoned the dealership OF FUNDY HONDA to get advice on what to do. First excuse was the cold(-10) temperature. Then told to add a bit of oil. I added 450ml of 0W-20. A week later the car came to a sudden shuddering standstill in a cloud of white smoke! A local agent then drained all the oil- a total of 7 liters was drained!!! The manual says it only takes 3.8 liters and that excess oil will damage the engine. After sending the vehicle back to Fundy Honda in Saint John, the feedback after they ran diagnostics was that the vehicle is fine. No physical tests where done such as a compression test. The next comment from the spokesperson at Fundy Honda was that they insinuated that I, a medical doctor who owns the vehicle and who doesn’t even have a toolbox nor any tools, have added the extra oil. What rubbish!! Poor and pathetic service. this was my 4th Honda. Always reliable and problem free in the past. The technicians obviously filled it with oil twice on pre-delivery service. An honest mistake. But do not blame other intelligent people for your mistakes Honda. I will never buy a Honda again. Beware and think twice before you do with this kind of service

Update from Oct 11, 2018: I tried to negotiate with Honda Canada . They are so fraudulent and pretended that it is a new problem and isolated problem, they wanted to open my engine to ‘see what the problem’ is. I requested they take the car back and refund me. They refused. I requested an exchange to the 2.4 l engine, they refused. Honda Canada insisted nothing is wrong with the vehicle and engine. After owning 4 Honda cars in my life, I will never buy a Honda again and have warned many people against Honda’s business ethics. I have traded my Honda on a Mercedes and lost $5000 , compliments of Honda. At least I got rid of it!!!
