My car went into the limp mode when I was driving and would only go 7 to 8 miles per hour. This is a big safety hazard. Had I been on the freeway and not near my home, it could have easily caused an accident.I had it towed to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong and said it was probably Bad gas. Prior to this, several lights had come on the dash stating that all of the systems in the car were not working. They also could not tell me why that was happening. It seems now that I find out that Honda CRVs made in the year 2017 have bad fuel injectors. I'm having to get that replaced. I'm not sure if that's what caused the car to go into the limp mode.

Multiple times my vehicle has flashed "BRAKE" when there was no object in front of me. At times there were shadows from trees that I thought may have prompted the warning. But in the past 6 weeks during interstate driving and adaptive cruise control engaged, the vehicle brakes for no reason. This can happen several times in just a short distance, or sometimes I can drive 25 miles and it doesn't happen at all. There is no rhyme or reason to the frequency. Most of the time it drops the speed about 5 MPH but keeps the cruise engaged at that new speed. I have never let it drop more than 15 MPH for fear of causing an issue with other drivers. This past week it applied the brakes just as a semi truck moved into my lane behind me at a close distance. I was afraid the truck would rear-end me. I have received the following warnings in the instrument panel: "Road departure mitigation system problem", "Collision mitigation system problem", and "Adaptive cruise control problem. My husband took pictures of the warnings as they appeared while I was driving. Honda diagnostics could not identify even one code.

I own a 2017 Honda CRV EX AWD. While driving downhill on a mountain road on Dec. 9, 2023, all of my dashboard warning lights and alarms began flashing and sounding off. Some of the warnings cycled through one after another while others were simultaneous. I continued to drive looking for a safe place to pull over. Going downhill I was able to maintain some speed, but when the road leveled off I found I was unable to accelerate to more than 5-10 miles per hour despite the engine continuing to rev. After pulling over, I stopped the engine for 10 minutes. Upon restarting, the dashboard warnings repeated the same process. At first opportunity, I took the car to a Honda dealership where code DTC P0304 was diagnosed and I was advised that the problem was failure of my fuel injectors. Repairs were made at a cost of more than $2000. Fortunately, this failure did not happen to me on a crowded freeway going at higher speeds as it could have easily created a situation where property damage, injuries, or fatalities could have occurred.

The incident happened on 11/2/2023 at 8:40 AM ET. I was at the speed of about 25-30 miles/hour to drop my daughter at preschool. Suddenly, I received an alert on my dashboard saying "Brake System Problem". When I applied brakes, the vehicle wouldn't stop. I pressed brake pedal very hard and kept it that way for a while. The vehicle gradually came to a stop but it took long for a vehicle to come to a stop. It was a 'brake failure experience'. If there was a downward slope and/or if I was at a higher speed, the vehicle would have gone out-of-control. I don't recall if I felt automatic acceleration when this incident happen. After vehicle came to a stop, I immediately engaged the parking brake, stopped the ignition, called emergency road-side assistance and got the vehicle towed to a dealership. This incident definitely put me, my 3 year old daughter, and others on the road at risk. Dealership inspected the vehicle. They found an error code that confirms the occurrence of the problem but they are unable to duplicate the issue. They don't know why it happened, nor can they guarantee that this will not happen again. They said they followed manufacturers guidelines to troubleshoot the problem. Since they cannot find why it happened, they don't have anything to fix, and advised me to pay the labor charges and pick my vehicle. I reported this issue to American Honda. Case # 14229789. They were concerned that the brakes should have responded well since the model is not hybrid or fully electric. This makes me feel more nervous. American Honda said they are going to investigate this and will get in touch with the dealership where the vehicle currently is. This vehicle was inspected and serviced at the same Honda dealership about 3 weeks ago. The vehicle has been meticulously maintained. All routine maintenances have been done at Honda dealership consistently on time. The vehicle has relatively new battery from 2022. I request you to look into the matter and advise.

Major driveability/safety issue. The vehicle started skipping and jerking on highway I-93 on the New Hampshire/ Massachusetts line. I was accelerating to 65 mph and merged with traffic, when the car engine began stalling intermittently. The check engine and maintenance indicator lights turned on. As I coasted to the side of the road, the vehicle continued to jerk and slow/speed up.

I was going ~60-65MPH on the Ronald Reagan freeway east bound on a rainy day at ~ 3:40pm on 27th December 2022. I was going on the second from left lane between the Rinaldi and Porter Ranch exits. Unbeknownst to me this part of the freeway is notorious for flooding in the left lanes. I applied the brakes gently to slow down my car. Suddenly, I felt I lost steering, the car skidded the steering wheel turned left into the median barrier. The car then made a complete U-turn in the direction of traffic and flipped over one complete revolution. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the crash and other cars were not involved. There were no warnings and indication that the car was hydroplaning. The skidding safety feature was turned on. I released the car to the insurance company to recover monetary loss and I don't have any information on if it was inspected. CHP has an accident report with number 9580. The reason I am reporting this incident is because, I believe me gently braking to slow down from 60-65 to 50-55MPH should not have caused the car to U-turn and flip. I believe the 2017 Honda CRV safety system malfunctioned because unbeknownst to the Honda Sensing system the car was already hydroplaning. It braked and made some automatic steering and braking decisions that caused the car to turn and flip. I believe the control algorithm of the 2017 Honda CRV failed to detect the car was hydroplaning and subsequently executed steering and braking decisions that caused the total loss of my car.

During a recent vacation my husband and I were on 95N just outside Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. My husband attempted to change lanes into the passing lane. As he depressed the gas pedal and turned into the lane, our Honda stalled and would not respond to any demand for acceleration. By the time we realized what was happening we'd gone from 65 miles per hour to about 30 miles per hour in a heavy flow of traffic, with oncoming traffic decelerating quickly and coming dangerously close upon the rear of our vehicle. There happened to be repairs to the left of our lane, with associated traffic cones so no cars were in that lane, and we were able to drift into that lane and restart our car. This happened once before on a very slow travel lane in my neighborhood and I didn't connect that the car had stalled. In retrospect this is the second occurrence. While I will certainly be taking the car for service at the Honda dealer, I also researched and found out that Honda is aware of this issue and does not deem it a safety issue, thus not using any sort of safety recall. My experience was harrowing, and certainly could have resulted in our own impact and indeed a larger impact on 95N after our stall. This was no joke and luckily my husband did not panic and we were able to respond and drift to safety. If that lane to our left had not been closed, no way could we have made it to the right side of the highway to the "slow" side of the road.

While in adaptive cruse control and traveling at highway speeds of 70 mph, I attempted to pass a slower moving semi tractor and trailer. Just as I was about to complete the pass, with traffic building up behind me, the system went to automatic braking, as if there were traffic in front of me. There was absolutely no traffic in front of me for at least a mile. This occurred on a bright sunny day on a straight stretch of road. I was able to apply excessive pressure to the gas pedal and slowly able to get the car up to highway speed again without getting rear ended. This has happened on three occasions, always with passing a tractor trailer. I have taken it to the dealer and they say they can find no problem. In addition, more times than I can count, I have had the car alert me and apply the breaks when there are no cars in front of me or beside me during normal driving (no cruse control). Lastly, almost without fail, if I am traveling at highway speeds using adaptive cruse control and the car in front of me takes an exit, my car will almost always break, even though the car that was in front of me is now clearly off on the exit. These sudden slowdowns when the traffic behind me is expecting me to maintain speed or speed up is a real hazard for getting rear ended or having someone get hostile towards me with their driving. Again, the dealer has been notified many times and indicates that they can find no problem. I have now turned off ALL the automatic driving features to avoid these issues, but the second issue still remains and I am out over $3,000 for a group of electronic components in my car that I can not use due to safety issues. Issue started with the car when brand new and continues to this day.

Recently my 2017 Honda CRV started flashing these 3 warning 1. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 2. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem 3. Collision Mitigation System Problem. But once in quarter these warnings flash but after engine power off/On warning message goes away. Last week when I was driving on the Interstate Highway, All of sudden this warning flashed, after a while I stopped at a service station. Off/ On the engine but all of the 3 warnings didn't go off. From a safety point of view Cruise/Collision Mitigation/Collision Mitigation Control is very important on Highway. At-least these features prevent and keep you alert while changing lanes, apply proper braking system on the highway from safety measure. The vehicle has not been driven more than 42k miles in the last 4 years. Although the 3 year 36 miles standard warranty is already passed. Today when I went to the service center after diagnosticians they mentioned that the Cruise control sensor has failed due to these issues. Due to pandemic the supply chain is impacted and part is not available. So I ordered the part to the service center. The BRAKE SYSTEM light is also on. Similar issue occurred sometime in 2018 after purchase of the new car in 2017. Initially I informed this issue to the service center. Case no was open with Honda - Case # 06624477. But the issue was not able to be replicated, the service center people told me that the software is updated and that it is not going to flash again. Looks like these new generation cars start creating problems once it completes its life cycle of 3 years and 36k miles warranty period. At least going for a new car was for peace of mind, but looks like this went the other way for me. Last 6 month back I had to get repaired the complete Air conditioner unit, service center people mentioned that AC hose pipe has leakage.

My vehicle is a 2017 Honda CR-V touring with an automatic transmission. Today while backing out of a parking place in a store parking lot, I pushed in on the gear shift button and moved the shift lever into reverse. When I removed my thumb from the gear shift button, the button had clearly broken on the inside of the gear shift lever, as when I removed my thumb, the gear shift button button ejected from the gear shift lever (it is spring loaded). This left me blocking traffic after having backed out. I was able to shift the car into drive, by simply pulling down on the gear shifter. However once the car was in drive, it could no longer be shifted into park or reverse without the gear shift button (which was now on the floor at my feet on the drivers side) thankfully I was able to pull over, put the car in neutral and engage the parking brake so I could find the gear shift button on the floor. This allowed me to drive the vehicle (keeping one hand on the shifter to avoid the button ejecting again) however a less experienced driver may become flustered, and loose attention causing an accident. I was fortunate the other drivers around me were patient and not approaching quickly. All drivers will be expecting this button to function properly, and it is disconcerting that a vehicle that is only three years and three months old would have such a failure. After researching the part on line, I have found numerous other folks reporting this part failing, and almost all from the 2017 model year. Being unable to shift a vehicle is a major flaw, and this part should be addressed.

While driving normally with no traffic or obstacles in front, all Honda sensing suite features randomly fail and trigger a series of warning messages flashing sequentially on the hud indicating a problem with the following: Lkas, collision mitigation, braking, adaptive cruise control, and road departure mitigation systems. The brake pedal becomes stiff and brakes feel unresponsive but sometimes engage to stop the car even if stopping is unsafe, such as driving on a highway with no cars in front. This happens randomly in different environments at different speeds. Rain, sun, hills, traffic, no traffic, but it is difficult to replicate the issue. The sensors trigger a false positive thinking there is an imminent collision even if driving 35 mph on an empty road. It also triggers when following a car with warning tones and automatic braking. The car feels like it is rebooting itself in the middle of a false but self-induced crisis. I have narrowly avoided collisions because the car took over control when not needed, only to turn off all safety features and warn that there is a problem with the braking system. The dealership service department claimed it was a low battery, but replacing with a new battery does not resolve the issues. The service department then tried to claim driver error after deleting trouble codes, with no explanation how "driver error" can cause the same error messages to display on the hud as all of the plaintiffs of a class-action lawsuit say the same thing.

At exactly two years old, the battery died. There is a service bulletin for a software update but of course, my vehicle didn't need update, it needed a new battery due to dead cell that happened within six hours. The top sides of the body has ripples down both sides. Was told this is usually cause by roof rack (I don't have roof rack) or by car wash (my car has never been through a car wash. I won't even let dealer wash it when I'm there). The car brakes hard even when there is no obstruction in front of me. The cruise, lane assist, mitigation will all shut off at various times saying radar is off/blocked. On 10/08/19 while driving, the lcd screen started beeping, flashing and going black. Nothing would work. Car is becoming dangerous to be on roadway. Filed complaint with Honda on a couple issues. Sorry for my luck, it's now out of warranty due to mileage.

Driving on highway at 70 miles per hour in beautiful 80 degree weather day on an August afternoon - no rain, no obstructions - when all of a sudden the dashboard lights up with warnings on the adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, brake failure, lane assist system - everything flashing and beeping. I immediately turn all the assist systems off but things still lite up and warning. When I am safely able to get off the highway to stop and turn car off and turn it back on all the warnings go away and appear to be fine. Sensors are clean and clear of obstructions. This is not the first time this has happened. Very scary! I keep the car clean and the sensors clean and unobstructed. Less than 25,000 miles on this car and it has had issues of not starting and dashboard flashing numerous times. Dealership actually toured it in on one occasion when it wouldn't start. Couldn't find anything and had us pick it up. Next morning would not start again. They finally replaced the battery. This was supposed to be a safe, reliable car and now I am afraid to drive it any distance with fear of failures.
