It was a record hot day, 100 degrees, and my CR-V was parked in my paved driveway, in the sun. I was watering my outdoor plants (not washing my car, our well water would only leave white spots on it) and waved the hose over my car and "pop!"- the front windshield cracked in two different places, both are large cracks, 10 and 18 inches. This was due, I believe, to the cool water on the hot windshield. I believe the car is now unsafe to drive as the cracks are so prominent and I question the windshield's integrity.

The chrome/plastic selector part that allows the vehicle to be shifted to and from park and the other automatic gears is a known flawed Honda design. The shift selector button failed yesterday on our 2017 CRV. Due to the design being spring loaded, the broken part flew out of the shift selector and was lost temporarily. Lacking this broken part and being unable to reinsert it properly into the selector, the vehicle can't be moved into park and thus by Honda design can't be turned off. This is both a fire and safety hazard that is well known to Honda (they used the poor design on earlier Accord and other models). When speaking with Honda service and part department agents, they readily acknowledge the design flaw, are disappointed Honda continued to use the hazardous design (it was a same problem in earlier models). Honda's response seems to be to let the selector buttons fail, keep a plentiful supply of replacements on hand in their parts departments and let the general public absorb the risks. This pattern and practice is both unsafe and unacceptable. Honda needs to design a more robust selector button and replace all current ones via a recall.

Complete vehicle system problem messages. Vehicle stability, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, road departure mitigation, electrical parking brake, emissions system, brake system, brake hold, power steering, hill start assist, tire pressure monitor problem, power steering system problem. Every one of these systems is displaying a 'problem' message as well as brake light is flashing on the dashboard engine light is on brake system light is on steering wheel light is on vehicle stability light is on battery light is on and oil lamp is on. This is about the fifth time this has happened. I have also experienced this while driving. The vehicle will suddenly display all these error messages for no apparent reason. Sometimes the error messages will pop up as soon as you turn the car on other times it happens suddenly while driving. It happens on city streets and on the highway straight away or turning

The display in my 2017 Honda cr V ex will start beeping at random and the brightness will start going up and down by itself. It is very distracting. I have seen others complain of the exact same problem, but I called Honda and they said that don't have a fix. This happens while driving or while stationary.

A sensor failure displays on the dashboard saying that some driver assist systems cannot operate: Radar obstructed. Honda of frederick tells me it's a weather related issue and manufacturing issue that they cannot do anymore to fix the problem. Have happeed 4 times; recorded 3 times: Driving in rain on highway, driving in snow in town, driving next day after snow but nothing on the road on highway. All straight ways. Have invoices from dealer.

Oil dilution diagnosed by dealer after multiple visits, no heat in cold weather, displays and audios going haywire while driving, stalled 6 times while backing up on different occasions, safety features not working properly while driving I.e. alerting that a car is next to you while driving city and country, no alert or driver assist safety feature when a car pulled out directly in front of me crossing traffic when antilock brakes worked properly and got stopped within 3 feet of other vehicle, car locked me inside after driving to work.....I have available videos of many of these issues available and they've been forwarded to Honda case #08447969 and the dealership. Also finally have documentation from the dealer diagnosing the oil dilution. They told me to drive the car and bring it in every time the dip stick goes above the fill line. No other issues were addressed and show as undiagnosed

2017 Honda CRV touring model car would not start twice in the first year. System seems to have some kind of drain on the battery when the car is off. First time, the car was not turned on for 3 days before trying to start it. The battery was bad so the dealer replaced it under warranty. Next time it happened 6 months later, the car was not turned on for 1 day. Battery tested fine and the dealer said there is no parisitic draw or any other problem. With my persistence, dealer did a system update. It is not acceptable for this to happen in the first year of having a car. Plenty of 2017 CRV owners are saying the same thing happened to them. It's all over the internet. Honda must find a solution and issue a recall. Otherwise, this car must be a lemon.

This vehicle is unable to properly heat up the cabin of the vehicle due to a poor thermostat engine. The SUV takes a long time to warm up within colder northern climates and will not distribute the necessary cabin heat. Dangerous in cold climates for children and elderly in the vehicle, especially when after 10-15 minutes of driving the vehicle is still blowing cold air out of the heat. Honda claims that the issue is because the engine is too efficient.

January 6th, 2018 car smelled of eggs and gas. Drove car 70 miles the emmisions and engine light came on and car was towed from a busy hwy 61 mn to Honda service center. They had CRV for 3 weeks. Changed oil & programmed injectors the oil had 1quart over of gas mixed into the oil. 700 miles later and car now has gas mixed into oil again and over the orange dipstick and smells of very strong gas. A service appointment made for March 14th, 2018 for oil change, rattle in the dash behind head unit and the heat problem as well. The no heat for winter driving with frozen windshield before driving and while driving is very dangerous! breaking down on a interstate hwy is also dangorus waiting 4 hours with no heat in car at -1 temp waiting for tow is dangorus. Not happy about this at all!

Problem: The 'apply 'brakes' light' appeared on the dashboard display and the brakes automatically applied, dragging the car from 65mph to 25 in about 80 feet. The SUV behind me narrowly avoided hitting me. There were no cars in my lane ahead of me for est. 7 car lengths. Narrative: Clear day on the capital beltway, 495, inner loop immediately after the chain bridge road exit in Virginia. I had accelerated from 30mph to merge from the highway 7/leesburg pike on-ramp onto the 495 inner loop into heavy traffic. This first lane from the right is a 'filter' lane where on-boarding cars and exiting cars must filter onto the freeway or an exit in about.2 miles. After entering the heavily trafficked filter lane I cleared and entered the second freeway lane, making 65mph to match traffic. Nobody was turning into my lane. My lane (second from right) was clear an estimated 7 car lengths in front of my car, but lanes around me were heavily travelled due to several exits in a short distance. (tysons corner/highway 7, chain bridge rd (va 123), dulles toll road (va 267). After passing the chain bridge exit, before engaging the cruise control, I was jerked forward into the shoulder restraint as the brakes automatically engaged: The 'brake' indicator showing on the dash. I looked in my rearview mirror and noted a SUV heavily braking to avoid impact. I hit the accelerator hard to increase the distance between it and me, making the brakes disengage. Speculation: This model frequently locks onto cars leaving my lane ahead of my course of travel and heavily deaccelerates as they slow to exit speed. Many cars were jockeying to exit in the lane to my right. My suspicion is the active braking system was traking some car in the right filter lane and applied brakes to match their exit speed, which could have been around 20mph.

I was driving on an interstate highway with the nearest vehicles at least a block in front and behind me. No overpasses, etc. It was very cold outside. Traveling at 65 mph I heard a loud explosion. Stunned, I immediately slowed down. Looked up and saw a large hole in my sunroof. I exited the highway onto a city street where I could better look and discovered the car was full of glass shards. I drove directly to the dealer. Dealer's initial response was that it would be an insurance claim. I disagreed as there was no vehicle nearby to account for any flying debris. After other reps examined the damage, they concurred it looked like it had exploded from the inside/out since some remaining glass was protruding upward. Dealer repaired at no cost, provided loaner vehicle, and service record indicates cause was body flexing and extreme cold.

This vehicle has a major heating issue. The heating in the vehicle is the worst I have seen yet. You can literally be waiting for a train or at a stop light and watch the engine temperature fall down and your ventilation begin to blow cold air, even if you've been driving the car for half an hour before that. I use remote start almost everyday during the winter, I let the car run for about 15 minutes and when I get inside, it's still cold as if it hasn't been running. This is a safety problem for me because I have a 4 month old son and he can't be constantly moved from a warm into a cold environment. I live in Chicago and the winters can be rough but I never had a vehicle that was this cold. I am so disappointed and I will never buy another Honda again (I've owned a total of 3) unless they issue a recall and resolve this problem.

Honda CRV 2017 collision system failed, led to brake fail and accident, feel unsafe driving now- on Dec 28th 2017, while driving my 2017 CRV, I had to stop at stop sign, I tried to apply brakes but they failed completely as in no response by pressing the brake pedal. The collission mitigation system on Honda malfunctioned and messed with the braking, as a result the brakes failed and I hit the car in front. Now my question is what will Honda do in this case. I am also worried now for future, today I was driving at 10-15 mph in a small street and was alone in the car. What if my entire family was in the car and this happened on a freeway at 70-75 mph. My driver airbag was also deployed due to the collision today. I now feel unsafe driving my Honda CRV 2017.

Traveling on interstate at the speed limit the car suddenly braked. All safety systems were activated at this time. Fortunately there was no traffic in front, behind or beside. I got the car under control, turned all systems off and proceeded. Messages on dash indicated four systems were inoperatable. When I got home I called Honda to report. They suggested I take the car to my dealer. I did so the following day. (this happened on a weekend) they indicated there was a "bulletin" out on this problem. They downloaded new software to correct the problem. Now my concern. Bulletins are only acted upon when an owner complains. The issue I outlined above warrants surely qualifies for more than a bulletin. At the same time.at the dealer I learned of another problem...a recall for a gas line issue. Someone needs to inform the owners of this vehicle when a recall is made. I was not informed. I accidentally found out about it.at the dealer, consumer gives permission to discuss this matter with the Honda Corp

The advanced safety systems that rely on radar (auto braking, lane departure, etc) are unusable in very light snow. There was barely anything on the sensor cover, yet these important systems stopped working. This happened repeatedly throughout the day. Wiping the sensor would restore function, but only for a couple of minutes, at both low speeds and on the highway. The vehicle has received the recent software update that was supposed to fix this.
