Honda 2017 CRV, battery is dead if I don't drive it for 2 days. This has happened three times in the past year, the last two times just a few weeks apart. And this past time I drove it on a Thursday and it was dead on Saturday. Fortunately the times this has happened the car was in the garage, so I was not stranded. I took it to the dealership and they ran diagnostics and said nothing was wrong. They just said I need to drive it every couple of days. After doing research online I see many other owners have the same problem, and have been told there might be a software fix at some point.

Battery runs down. Put new battery...same problem. Need a jump to start for me to drive. Battery runs down if it sits for a day problem steering after it is jumped. All alerts are on then disappears after battery resets components on its own. Alerts for stabilization, breaking stabilization and more turns on when driving. Went over problems with a friend who is a mechanic. Trouble shooting everything and concluding something in electrical that doesn't turn off and runs new battery down when engine is off. Oil cap smells like gas fuel. Honda mechanic told me on the spot it could be this or that even when I said there are problems with that noted on websites. Car at Honda dealership getting "fixed"....told me it is the alternator, but car engine doesn't stop or shuts off when it is jumped and driven. We also have had problems where the alert warning alarm turning on while driving on the highway indicating there is an object in front or side when there is nothing there. Those issues began happening before I had these recent battery problems (6 months before issues with the battery). I also recall that in the fall of 2018 that the object alert turned on a couple of times driving on the highway. My daughter also has experience this while driving both highway and town street. Mechanic from Honda is not addressing the smell of gas in oil cap even with information I told him about this problem noted with previous customers. Hasn't looked into it since my car has been there for a day and half.

I have owned this vehicle 1 yr and a few months and have had to have the computer system wiped out and the software reinstalled more than 2X due to 'problem' dash lights all of the sudden scrolling;road departure mitigation system problem, electric brake system problem, brake hold system problem, tire pressure monitor problem, emissions system problem, electric parking brake problem, power steering system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, ect. The vehicle was involved in a fender bender in the middle of all this chaos, but the problems started shortly after I bought it in may2019. At one time the computer would clear itself out and I could ride around for a day or two without all these lights flashing. That is no longer the case. These scrolling problem lights occur after I've been driving down the road but now they come on immediately when I turn on the vehicle. Prior to this and months ago, when I was rounding a corner on the freeway all the sudden the brake assist engaged as if I was too close to a vehicle in front of me. It was quite a jolt. The first time this occurred was October/November. 2019. This evening I got my oil changed and the mechanic found gas in my oil; I mentioned a gas odor last winter to the dealership when I took it in for oil change. They basically blew it off. No doubt about it now. In fact I even saved some of the oil that came out of the engine to show my husband when he gets home. I have used two different dealerships thus far because of workmanship issues at the first dealership. Now dealership number two does not even want to touch my vehicle.

The sunroof spontaneously exploded as I was driving on a city street. There was a loud pop noise when it happened but nothing hit the car and the car was going straight on a road that was in good condition.

I I was driving my car on the street and went to shift from drive to reverse to back into a driveway and realized my "shift button" that you depress to changes gears was no longer there attached and had fallen down and landed on my console. It broke off while in drive without notice and fell away. I had to maneuver it back in place so I could shift to reverse and move car off the roadway.

Three issues - 1 - the knob on my shift broke and popped off. The plastic broke, and rendered the button useless. 2 - the passenger side airbag works intermittently. Does not seem to be impacted by weight, but the light comes on sometimes other times it does not. 3 - the side panel of the seat that holds the electronics for the seat popped off and does not go back on. Another junk piece of plastic. This has caused the seat to adjust unexpectedly.

While I was driving a lighting on my dash broad came on and my car started to make drive funny. I had pulled over and looked in the manual to see what the symbol stands for. It stated, something is wrong with the electrical system and advise me to turn my SUV off and wait. I waited for ten minutes, when I turn on the car all the lights where flashing on the dash broad, the radio had came on but the windows won't roll down. I waited for 15 minutes the car won't start and all the lights started flashing on the dash broad. I received a jump but my car was still doing the same thing. I had to buy a new car battery but that one in and once I started the car all the lights on the dash broad came on again and turned off once I started to drive my car. Occasionally, it happens every once in awhile. Leaky compressor and discharge hose within 4 years, suggesting defective design/manufacturing, possibly due to transition to 1234yf refrigerant. This refrigerant being flammable and more hazardous & flammable than the previous R-134A refrigerant, this leakage represents a possible safety hazard (not just comfort) is worth noting that this issue appeared so widespread, that one dealer suggested a 3 week minimum wait for the parts. Honda has already issued an A/C extended warranty for a similar vehicle (Honda civic)

High pressure A/C line leak diagnosed on 10 June 2020. No parts are available for repair and A/C system is inop. No A/C and no loaner car on hondacare extended warranty. No cooling capability in the summer and no defogging capability in the rain. No estimated time for repair. Failure happened while car was parked with no warning or indication lights. Car is serviced by bill page Honda in falls church Virginia.

The main screen inside the cab started beeping, then the screen went dark and then to full brightness and started scrolling through the menu options without me touching the screen. This was a bad distraction while I was driving. The screen controls everything and when it did this I had no control and lost everything. It continued doing this for about 10 minutes.

2017 Honda CRV parked in garage, when attempting to start engine dash lights up warnings on braking system, cruise control, lane assist, battery and many other areas. Car would not start and goes dead with 3rd attempt to start. This is the 3rd time I must have car towed to dealership; car has 4,000 miles. Dealership states that they cannot recreate this intermittent critical failure and I should buy a new car. This car is unreliable and a hazard. Even though I paid thousands of dollars when I bought it new, for extra extended warranty, repair & maintenance plans, dealership tell me nothing is wrong with this car.

We repeatably have the smell of gas in the car (tubo-charged CRV) and in my garage after filling the gas tank. I've seen no leakage on the garage floor but the smell of gas is overwhelming. Likewise it is a sickening smell in the car. I think this is a tremendous safety issue since I have a gas fired furnace and hot water heater in the garage - I open the garage door to air it out for fear of a fire. I understand that Honda has been looking into the gas smell issue but no recall has been issued. For safety sake when is something going to be done?

The gear shift knob popped out while it was in park. There was one spring that popped out with it, and the gear shift seems to stay in gear, but I put the car's emergency brake on just to be safe. I have to push the gear shift knob and hold it in order to change gears.

The button on our shifter stuck inside the shifter itself and we were unable to turn the car completely off...ran the battery down and needed to jump start the car. Had to use a screwdriver to get the button out again. Checked to see if my car was in a recall and nothing was showing. How is this possible? many other Honda CRV owners are having this exact problem. It's not safe

The push button on the transmission shifter broke off and could not shift the car out of drive in a safe manner. Had to put parking brake on (was on an incline)and shut off car and look for the button. Was able find it and insert it temporarily to get home.

The heat does not work properly when it is cold out. Auto start does nothing to warm up the car. The cars temperature gauge only moves towards the center when the car is moving. Once is it half way, a normal car would then produce heat. Not this car! you turn the heat on and the gauge drops all the way down, to nothing! with the heat not working I'm left with windows that are foggy/icy which limits my visibility creating dangerous driving conditions. I noticed tgis sooncas the cold weather came around and its still doing it to this day. I have read multiple forums where so many people have the same problem with 3000-4000 miles on the brand new car. Some people did repairs and still no heat.

While driving down the hwy at 65 mph the button in the gear shift popped out. It is a piece of plastic and it broke inside the gear handle. I drove home but without this button inserted I am not able to shift to park, reverse, drive. I took it to the westhills Honda dealer for repair. I was told there was a recall on this same issue but not for this VIN. To me this is a very serious concern.

On 1/8/20 when I started my car in the morning all warning lights came on before leaving the driveway, and stayed on all the way to work, and back. Then again the following morning. I called Honda on 1/9/20, they advised to come in sooner than later. Car is at Honda now 1/10/20, they are stating all codes may be due to two codes that need to be fixed: P0302 (fuel injection), which is covered under warranty and U0129 lost communication with braking system due to A/C control unit - which will cost me $1630 for a car with only 60,000 miles on it! of note: The car's emergency brake while driving has triggered a couple of times, and all warning lights have come on before in heavy rain.
