2018 Honda CR V bought new from Dealership Dec 2018..Complete total failure of AC July 2022 less than 20,000 miles driven but just out of the 3 year warranty period. Dealership diagnosed in their words "Black Death". After a lengthy explanation of what happens when the compressor goes and how black sludge builds up and "shrapnel like gung messes up everything". The fix, complete replacement of entire system compressor, condenser, extension valves, dryer and a system flush Just under 1,8000$$.
He did not mention that this was a well know issue to Honda similar to one the Honda Civic had a few years back. I went on line and began reading and this is a problem. Dealership no help, Appealed to Honda Corp they denied any help. Now radio silence. Why isn't there a law suit to challenge Honda to take some responsibility for a clearly defective car part installed repeatedly in their cars?
