After getting this vehicle out of shop for other major issue, I noticed that the outside temp gauge on console was not accurately showing outside temperature. It basically stayed on 78 degrees, give-or-take a degree or 2.
Having been in San Diego for a few days where the temp WAS actually about 78, I thought MAYBE it was now working. I ignored it for the most part as I have been on short trips, albeit in HOT above 90 degree temps. Well, the last two days I noticed that my display STILL read 78 degrees even though it was 92 degrees outside. I tried stopping and restarting but to NO avail. I parked in direct sun which will usually show the temp even higher than actual air… NOPE - it still said 78 and then bumped up to 79! In that sun it was about 100 degrees.
I made an appointment to bring in AGAIN and noted that this morning when it was 75 outside my display was still at 78. I took it to dealer. The advisor told me that it was probably NOT broken because “this is an ambient temperature and because of the new computers in these cars, it takes a while to re-adjust and that they may not catch-up with the actual outside temp...â€. WHAT THE HELL??? I never had a car where the temperature display didn’t actually display the outside temp!!! If this is true - why is it even there!
BTW - before having this car in the shop last month - IT WORKED and the loaner I had for a week. It also accurately displayed the OUTSIDE TEMP!
I feel like I have a notation on my vehicle in Honda’s system to DENY any issues that I am reporting!
NOW back to my engine noise issue that they are denying………
