On many occasions my CRV auto brakes hard and lane keep follows the wrong lines. 2 examples of braking: 1 - a pickup truck was making a right hand turn in front on me. As a human I started to go around him to the left as he turned but my auto brakes locked up and the person behind me came within inches from rear ending me then got road rage and chased me for something I did not do! could have been killed! 2nd was on a bend in the road - a white moving truck coming the other way on the bend made my auto brakes lock up hard / near a full stop! this happens often but not usually to these extremes. Lane keep - while on a major highway with cruise and lk on I went thru a recent construction area and my Honda started to follow old lines and painted over w/ black paint lines - not the new lines from after the repairs! it was scary - almost drove me into a barrier! on 1200 mile trip to Florida my car often would hit the brakes for reasons I could not tell or go out of the normal road lines or the acc would slow the car to a crawl for trucks in the other lane. Took it to the dealer - they say npf. One guy did say to adjust the sensitivity which I did but it still brakes when it should not. My wifes car does not react this way.

Problems first presented: Auto door lock malfunction, auto- rain sensing wiper malfunction would come on when dry, not come on when wet; navigation system went crazy on the highway flashing on and off when using it; twice the auto breaking system came on when on the highway with nothing in front of me....going 50 mph! I very well could have been rear ended. I saw no obstruction on the road. I have had the vehicle in twice to the dealer only to be told it does not happen and they have no bulletins regarding these issues.

3 time while driving on the fwy 65 mph with the cruise control activated, lane control activated, and the distance set to minimum, with no one in front of me, the car detected the car to the right of me and slammed on the brakes, and causing the person behind me to slam on their brake almost causing an accident. This happened between April of 2019 and Oct of 2019. When I brought it into the dealership they said that there was dirt on the milliwave radar, found code P2583-97, I found this to be highly unlikely because the car was spotless. The second time I took the car to the dealership, they said the could not duplicate the problem. When asked how they diagnosed the car they said they drove it 10 miles down a bolsa chica rd. I told the sevice person that that was not the same conditions as I was driving and that they could not have gotten the car up to 65 mph when the speed limit was 45 mph and it wasn't a fwy. Her response was we are not allowed to drive cars on the fwy. I said then how are you do duplicate the condition of the problem. This car has been into the dealership for multable electronic issue, none of which have been solved yet. All I get is the same answer, cant duplicate the problem. I believe this car has had these problems since it was sold new and the person before me turned this car in with only 8000 miles on it for a new car that they could trust. This is a safety issue ad could cause me to get into an accident thats not my fault.

I was going about 25 miles per hour at about 6:00 pm on 10/21/2019 in my 2018 Honda CRV exl in pittsburgh, pa. When the car's automatic braking system kicked in and slammed on my breaks abruptly for absolutely no reason at all. It was a very clear day, no rain, very well paved, maintained, and marked 2 lane city street. There were absolutely no cars in front of me or coming in the other direction. This came out of no where and I was shocked and confused as to why this happened. I own 3 crvs!!! I have always loved Honda and now I'm fearful of them. I'm afraid to let my teenage daughter drive it. Thank god I was only going 25 miles per hour and no one was behind me ! please Honda! this is real!!!! this is dangerous!! fix this problem!!! our lives depend on it!

I was driving my 2018 Honda CRV on a city street between 25 and 30 mph when the brakes suddenly applied themselves and the car jerked forward very hard. My foot was on the acclerator.there was no car, pedestrian of object in front of my car nor behind my car. The weather was clear, no rain for several days.I think it was the automatic braking system. I called the dealer as soon as I got home. They are closed. I will be taking my car to the dealer first thing in the morning

Vehicle was traveling westbound on I-90 in Massachusetts in the travel lane at between 65-68 mph. The cruise control was not engaged; the lane keeping assist feature was not active. It was around 7:00 pm. No cars in the passing lane. A tractor trailer was about 200-300 feet in front. The dashboard chimed and displayed the following three warning messages: Collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist system. The first time each message was displayed a chime sounded; the messages continued to rotate through the display for the next thirty minutes. The messages stopped when we got home and put the car in the garage in park. Additionally, the light for 'brake system' (near the temperature gauge) came on. I brought the car in today for service (it just happened that it was scheduled for an oil change); I told the service advisor about what had happened; the technician working on the vehicle said no codes were being displayed. He took it for a ride but could not get the messages to come up (it only happened one time). The service advisor said it was probably 'just a glitch'.

I was travelling approximately 50 mph on local highway. No cars directly in front of me for a 1/4 mile. It had rained overnight and the road conditions were slightly damp but no puddles. I was crossing through an intersection and the car's 'brake' alarm (forward collision system) falsely triggered on the dashboard and instantly slammed on my brakes and brought my 2018 CRV to a dead stop. My cargo went flying forward and my head jerked forward hard. I was wearing my seat belt. No car was immediately behind me otherwise they would have for sure crashed into my car. I contacted my local Honda dealer and brought the vehicle in that afternoon. They said they would run diagnostics on it. They called me back the next day and said that there "were no trouble codes stored in the vehicle". they said they "contacted Honda and there were 'no known issues' and there was nothing else they could do for me". they suggested I turn off the forward collision system if I was concerned. This is crazy and hazardous. The vehicle should not put me (and others) in danger like this. Thank god my wife and kids were not in the vehicle when this happened. Thank god no one was behind me. I pray they aren't when this happens again. There needs to be some sort of recall or warning regarding this.

While driving on a main road, I went through an intersection with no cars in front or to the side of me, but 2 cars close behind me. When I went through the intersection, my brake lights began flashing and then my car stopped itself on impact. The 2 cars behind me swerved around me almost causing an accident. There were no vehicles that should have set off the automatic breaking and the weather conditions were fine.

2018 Honda CRV was suddenly flashed 'brake message' on dash and brake applied by themself with my foot on acceleration pedal during about 65 miles per hour driving on freeway, there was no cars in front of this vehicle. I dropped this car to Honda dealer on same day this malfunction happened (Sep. 13, 2019), and picked up Sep 16, 2019. They found error code, checked battery, hard reset the associated system.

At various speeds and different roads my car seems to brake for no reason no cars in front of me and no obstructions of radar or camera. The screen starts flashing brake brake brake and then proceeds to stop the vehicle, even on the middle of the freeway. Have been to the dealer multiple times and they claim there's nothing wrong with my car. This is obviously dangerous, and I fear for my own safety

My recent encounter was on a two lane road traveling at 40 mph. No cars were in front of me and a car was about 2 car lengths behind me. A MINIschool bus was heading in the other direction about 2 car lengths on the other side of the road. I had my two grandchildren in the car with me, when all of a sudden the car breaked hard sending all my things on the floor and scarring my granddaughters. I was shaken myself being nearly rear ended by the car behind me. I took it in to atlantic Honda, and was told ' no problems were found on the computer and could not duplicate the issue'. 'never had anyone complain of this'. I also advised them, the break light flashes 'out of the blue' while driving on the highway with no other cars around. I was told to bring it in if it happens again. I feel on edge driving the car not knowing if it will break unexpectedly!

The automatic braking system engages when there is no imminent danger. Sometimes it occurs when the vehicle in front exits onto an off-ramp and slows down. Even though they are not in front of my car, the auto braking triggers. In other situations there has been no discernable reason for the brakes to trigger, creating a significant danger of being rear-ended by the car following me. In the latter case, it happens more frequently when there there is a commercial-size truck in the right lane - usually not slowing down or maneuvering in any apparent way.

The collision mitigation system part of Honda sensing will automatically and randomly engage while driving, causing the breaks to be self applied abruptly even when there is nothing in front of the car. This is extremely dangerous and almost caused multiple accidents. Honda doesn't believe there is a problem. This has happened multiple times already.

Computer break system and applied brakes failed to stop our Honda CRV 2018 as we were exiting the Santa Fe opera in a slow moving line of cars down an incline. The brakes were applied at least three times and would not engage. Car began to accelerate. At this time we made the decision to "select a pine tree" as a way to stop the CRV. This was done to prevent a possible chain reaction of rear end collisions to a dozen or more cars and possible injury to the occupants. The air bags deployed. Car was totaled by the insurance company.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. while driving 15 mph, the brakes failed. When the contact depressed the brake pedal, it would not depress and the entire electrical system went out. The instrument panel gauges lit up and flashed. The vehicle drove through a stop sign and over railroad tracks. The emergency brake did not engage. The contact let the vehicle roll to a stop. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times, but the failure recurred. After three attempts, the contact was able to pull the vehicle to the middle of the road and had it towed to a dealer. Airport Honda (3069 alcoa hwy, alcoa, tn 37701, (865) 970-2300) instructed the contact to have Honda roadside service tow the vehicle to them for diagnostic testing. The contact informed the dealer that she felt unsafe in the vehicle and did not want it back. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 28,000.

Driving down a country road doing about 55mph on July 28,19 my vehicle suddenly came to a dead stop for no reason. Closest vehicle in front was 9-10 car lengths ahead. Nothing on the side of the road or directly in front of me. If a vehicle was behind me I would have been rear ended. A malfunction such as this could cause a deadly unavoidable accident. At the time I did not have the adaptive cruise control set and had no control of gas pedal when this collision mitigation braking assist system activated. This vehicle is a time bomb for anyone driving it. This is clearly a safety hazard.and one which needs to be investigated.

While traveling down a 2 lane road at about 35 mp/hr I noticed a large metal plate that a utility company had used to cover a hole in the road. As the car approached the plate, the collision mitigation braking system activated unexpectedly, throwing me violently forward in the seat. There were 2 cars behind me that almost rear ended me. I reported this incident to the car dealership and to american Honda client services within a couple of days and asked that the cmbs feature be disabled because I fear it will activate again unexpectedly at some point, causing a loss of control of the vehicle and, or, a rear end collision. They said that the feature could not be disabled. It could only be shut down by an on/off button on the dash. However, it automatically resets when you start the engine. Because of this unexpected and violent experience, I feel that the cmbs is a dangerous feature and that it could cause a very serious accident. I'm asking that the NHTSA get Honda to fix the cmbs issue before someone is seriously injured. Thank you.
