This rack and pinion steering failure is a problem cited by several others, a few on this site, yet Honda refuses to acknowledge it as a probem. In fact, while working with the dealer service team I was informed that another customer experienced the same problem, ordered the part then sold their car prior to the repair. Ironically making a part that was otherwise on back order available for my repair. Firstly it’s interesting that another local car owner had the same issue and more importantly that the part was in such high demand that it’s on back order. Something is wrong here and Honda is doing nothing about it.

Seems to occur when traveling for weekend trips - the steering becomes difficult because of the fact it's pulling at every oncoming vehicle. It continues even when you turn off the road departure. Definitely have to be on guard and prepared to pull against the steering.

Steering has developed a dead spot on center. Clicks when the wheel is moved. Vehicle will wander left or right on its own. Honda recalled some of these, and mine wasn't one. Expensive repair. Not happy with this Honda
