Apparently defective tire with tread/belt separation which resulted in a sudden loss of tire pressure. My daughter was driving the vehicle on US23 northbound at posted speed. She felt what she thought was minor tire unbalance, but suddenly the tire lost air pressure and she pulled over to the side of the road and had the spare tire mounted. The next day, I had all four tires replaced for safety since they had moderate tread wear at 50,000 miles and we are going into winter. I kept the defective Bridgestone tire.

On Friday, August 28, 2020 I purchased a certified used Honda CRV from Honda of joliet. After driving the vehicle for a few days, I noticed this sound coming from the rear driver's side. To be sure, I had my brother in law drive the vehicle. He mentioned that there may be something wrong with the wheel bearing or the brakes. On Monday, August 31, I dropped the vehicle off for service. When I purchased the vehicle, I had new Bridgestone tires. I was confused and steve could not explain why the service dept. Recommended new tires. I go to pick up my vehicle on Thursday, September 3rd. When I picked up the vehicle, I noticed that the tires were different. The brand was advanta tires. Looking online consumer reports found the advanta had an average tread life of 44,500 miles compared with an average of 71,000 miles for all the tires. In addition, these tires have poor performance in winter conditions. After surveying the dealer lot, I am very confused as to why these tires were chosen as the other vehicles all have better tires (e.g. Continental, Bridgestone, and Michelin). Please see the attached photos. Even more frustrating, my vehicle now drives worse than before..on Friday, I emailed the owners of the dealership, mike, horst, and rick korallus. Of the three, mike korallus responded and gave me the impression that the vehicle would be repaired. Today, the vehicle was picked up by service. After work I drove back to joliet to pick up my vehicle, hoping the tires had been ordered and replaced and the noise fixed. Unfortunately, this was not the case and javier once again gave me an inadequate explanation. There is no way these tires are making it through the winter. Now, I must make another appointment with a different dealer to make sure that my initial issue is resolved. In further research, no other tire retailer including walmart carries these tires.

I bought my car-used (5-4-20) with 18250 miles on it 3 days later (5-7-20) took a short road trip. While on the highway, all of a sudden low tire pressure light went on and about 2 minutes later the sidewall went out... thankfully I was already slowing down. It was the rear drivers side tire. A nice person stopped to help me change the tire. When he removed it the entire inside side wall looked like someone took a knife to it all the way around.

Driving in town going to store smelled something like dead animal or some hair burning horrible smell almost got sick and or passed out. Next couple of times I drove it the smell got better but I told my son. I couldn't drive it anymore cause I was getting sick. Then the smell went away and oil light came on saying I had 15% oil life left. Me and my son smelled oil stick and it smelled like gasoline. Tires were worn on the inside on all four at 11,940. Miles. I had to pay my own money to balance them again

I bought a 2018 Honda CR-V in May 2018, it was new, with 717 dealer miles on it. It came with Bridgestone ecopia hl 422 plus tires in size 235 65R17 as standard equipment. At 9,292 miles on September 11th I had an oil change and service which included checking tire pressures. On September 28th I went on vacation and came back October 5th. On a perfectly clear day, no hazards in the road, on interstate 26 North of florence, SC, I heard a loud bang, and at first I thought it was the car next to me backfiring. But then I heard the dreaded flapping sound of a flat tire on my vehicle. I pulled off the extremely busy interstate and proceeded to change the tire which was on the left rear. I then searched on my phone for the closest Honda dealership to try to get a new tire because I still had about 140 miles to get home, and did not want to risk it on the 'doughnut' spare tire. I found one in sumter, SC, about 25 miles off the interstate and went there. They put on a new tire which cost me $167.52. I told the manager that I believed it was a defective tire. He said 'let's look on the inside to see if there is any metal or other debris'. there was none. Just an inner sidewall blowout. And no damage to the tread. He bagged the tire up for me. And I continued home. Monday October 7th I went to my Honda dealership and explained to the parts manager what had happened and he took the tire. He agreed that it looked suspicious. He got no positive response at all from Bridgestone, and I called Bridgestone myself. I got stonewalled and got no satisfaction. But he kept digging and finally got someone to offer what they said was half of the value - $45 - but he told them no, let's send the tire in and make a determination after you receive and inspect it. I got a check today $63.01 for my defective tire. The tire sells online for $159. They know these tires are dangerous.

According to blackstone labs.oil analysis using oil from the first oil change at 5K miles on 1/2019 oil contaminated with gas from direct fuel injection system problem. Driveability problem due to sticking acceleration pedal. This hesitation has almost caused accidents. My wife is reluctant to drive this vehicle. This fuel contamination of crankcase oil can cause serious damage to internal engine parts.this is a major problem regarding city & highway driving that acceleration is needed to maintain traffic flow. I have to be careful to avoid having to need to accelerate causing major hesitation (flat) & accelerator pedal stuck in down ( to floorboard) position.

Driving my car. Heard a noise, stopped as soon as I could. Probably about 1.5 miles. I had a flat. It wasn't one of those big flat tires you get and you know it within 10 seconds. My tire pressure light never came on. As soon as the spare tire was put on, the pressure light came on. I got a new tire at the closest tire place. It wasn't the same manufacturer, but it was the same tire specifications, because they didn't have the exact tire. I've done that many times in the past, with no problem. Well, the tire pressuring system light kept going on. I kept resetting it and it would go on again. I took it to the dealer. They said they reset it. 10 minutes after leaving the dealer as I was driving, the light came back on. I went back to the dealer the next day. They told me it wasn't the exact tire, and I would have to replace my new tire. I did that. Two weeks later, the tire light (TPMS) was on again. Went back to the dealer again. They told me that it had to be reset again, and that it should be reset 3 times really fast. (is this in the manual" is this a real thing") it hasn't come back on. What concerns me, is the safety of driving with a flat or low tire pressure with no warning. And it's scary driving with the light coming on every 10 minutes. How am I supposed to know when there's a real emergency" if a warning light doesn't come come on with a flat, when is it supposed to come on? when you don't put on an exact matching tire? when you don't reset it 3 times really fast" 10,000 miles on the car and it had to be brought in for service 3 times in a 2 week time span.

Sensor indicating low tire pressue will come on randomly while driving down the road at any speed. There is no issue with tire pressures when this occurs (I stop and pull off the road and check each tire with a pressure gauge). Dealer states this is a known issue as the "tire sensors" actually work by calculating the rotation of each tire, if they don't match, sensor goes off indicating low pressure. Per dealer, system gets "confused". only way to fix is to pull over and stop, then use a special "hard reset of the tire pressure system" that is not explained in the vehicle manual. Dealer states Honda has no fix. Safety concern is you do not know if you really have a flat tire or not, causing you to pull over and check tires with a pressure gauge in the middle of traffic.

The contact owned a 2018 Honda CR-V. while the contact's son was driving 30 mph, he made a right turn and the wheels seized. The vehicle struck a guardrail head on and all the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The dealer informed the consumer doesn't access vehicle crashes or investigations. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000. The consumer stated there was a steering recall for the same make and model but, this vehicle was not included.
