I was driving down the expressway with Lane Assist on. One car was passing me to my left while I was passing a car to the right side of me. The steering wheel jerked more than slightly to the left. I felt uncomfortable because I thought I was going to hit the car on my left. This was in my new 2020 Honda CR-V.
Last month, I was driving my then 2017 Honda CR-V and somehow I suddenly ended up off the road & couldn't get back on, to suddenly realize I was headed for the end of a guard rail with no time to stop. I hit the end of the guard rail square on. All air bags deployed, the car spun, rolled, and flipped upside down. I had minor injuries, which was a definite miracle that I even came out alive. My car was totaled.
I later found out that the 2017's had a recall on the steering feedback magnets that could come dislodged and cause the steering wheel to rotate in the opposite direction. It appears that the recall campaign applied to a manufacture date later in the year than my car's date of manufacture, but it makes me wonder if there are other CR-V's with that issue but have not been detected yet. Hmmmmm....
