popping noise when turning or riding over bumps

We bought this CR-V brand new from the dealership. My wife called me about two weeks after driving it, complaining of a noise that sounded like a “pop”. I immediately met up with her and drove it thinking it was a rock in the tire. Sure enough, when driving if I pulled the steering wheel left and right kind of hard while driving down the road, I could consistently reproduce it. It was a popping or squeaking noise. She heard it when making turns and during bumps. The vehicle continued to drive fine.

I made an appointment immediately since it only had 1100 miles on it. I went to the shop today and the shop foreman at the dealership said immediately he could tell it was the transmission mounts. This totally blew me away since I figured CV joint or suspension. Even weirder, they had a new CR-V just the day before with the same issue at my dealership! Or at least that’s what we were told. There was no real explanation as to how or why it happened, other than it was a factory defect. No recalls are available for this. Parts are back ordered but they said it would be safe to continue to drive.

This is our first Honda. A bit disappointed since this it’s our first. This is also the highest trim of the CRV. We love this vehicle so far and will hope this is the only issue.
