What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" The A/C compressor seal may be leaking under certain conditions. The component is available for inspection by an authorized Honda dealer or service center. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If the compressor fails completely while driving in hot weather, the lack of air conditioning can cause discomfort and distraction to the driver, potentially increasing risk of unsafe driving conditions. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The issue has not been reproduced, but Honda has issued an extended warranty for this known problem. A dealer in Puerto Rico stated that action is only needed if the system fails completely. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The component has not been formally inspected yet; the dealer only provided a verbal assessment. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps or messages appeared. The system is still operational but may exhibit leakage over time. What happened" In your own words, tell us what happened. The vehicle is a Honda CR-V Touring 2021. I received a notice regarding an extended warranty for the A/C compressor seal. When visiting a dealer in Puerto Rico, they stated that the issue only requires action if the A/C fails completely. I am reporting this because the extended warranty indicates that any potential leakage should be inspected and addressed, and I want the vehicle properly checked to ensure the compressor seal is not failing.

My 2021 Honda CRV (VIN# [XXX] ) is only four years old and the touchscreen no longer works properly. My main concern is that the backup camera (which displays on the touchscreen) will come on when backing up but then sometimes glitch out and not display anything while in the process of backing up. I should also mentioned that the only thing that even partially works sometimes is the backup camera, because all the other features are unusable as the touchscreen perma displays the Honda logo and that is it - except for when it displays the backup camera when backing up....but, again, even when it does display the backup cam on the touchscreen it will sometimes glitch out causing the touchscreen to no longer have the image of the backup camera while in the act of backing up. I brought the vehicle into Honda to inspect and try to repair, but they said it was not repairable and must be replaced. There were no fuse issues either, so it is the touch screen unit that is the problem. There are quite a lot of people online complaining about the touchscreen who own the 2021 Honda CRV, so I am asking that the NHTSA issue a recall for the touchscreen. Two separate incidents since owned car: When opened front and back doors, leaned in, face touched corner tip of door. Both times the tip ripped a small piece of my face off. Extreme bleeding. Eventually healed but if I hit the door with force I would definitely have needed stiches and had a scar each time. This needs to be recalled.

My 2021 Honda CR-V displays an -??All System Failure-?? message while driving. On multiple occasions, the car has also braked suddenly on its own when there was no obstacle in front of me. This is a serious safety hazard, as it could cause a crash from behind. The issue is intermittent but recurring. It has happened several times recently. I know other Honda CR-V owners are experiencing the same problem, and some mechanics report they are seeing this issue frequently. I am very concerned about the safety of myself and my children while driving this vehicle. This vehicle was in an accident 3 years ago, but these problems only began recently and are consistent with widespread reports from other CR-V owners.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, there was a very loud explosion (bomb-like) while driving. Parts started flying off the car, including shattered glass. The next day I took the car to the Honda Dealership and was told the sunroof had exploded. I was very fortunate that I or anyone in the cars behind me were not injured. Unfortunately, Honda is not covering this as part of my warranty. I currently have a little over 27,000 miles on the car.

Since new, TPMS fails to warn of a low tire unless the car is driven for 5 miles. The TPMS in this car is ABS-based, and each wheel does not have an individual TPMS sensor, rather the wheel speed is what determines if the car has a low tire or not. Brought to Honda several times, could not duplicate, says TPMS performs as it should. Recently had a flat, 3/4 tires were inflated to 37 PSI and the left rear had 4 PSI. Warning light did NOT come on. Drove on low tire for 2.5 miles before noticing I had a flat tire from a nail. AAA came, put the "donut" on the car, and within another 2.5 miles, the TPMS warning light came on, followed by "TPMS System Problem." Not the first time this happened, but I had to buy a new tire because I drove on it flat - which was ~ $267 in Costco for a Michelin Defender 2. Luckily, I did not drive too long of a distance that would've damaged the wheel, but this is problematic especially if you're on the highway. As you can tell, a 4-year-old car with 74K on it, I do a lot of driving. This needs to get rectified.

While driving on interstate 140 doing about 70 we heard a loud noise and then we also heard the wind coming above the cover to our sunroof. After stopping to examine what happened it appears that our sunroof was damaged and cracked by either and outside force or possibly a spontaneous explosion as has been reported elsewhere on the Internet. We had the glass replaced when we got to our destination in NJ but they couldn't repair the tracks the powered roof slides on due to damage to the rails or brackets. They replaced the glass and told me not to operate the window motor until the dealer can investigate further.

I purchased the Certified Pre-Own 2021 Honda CRV on August 26, 2024. I took it to the Honda Dealership which we purchased it to inspect a noise coming from the passenger front wheel-well. Upon the inspection they noticed the passenger Strut Tower had split open at the weld seam. The Honda dealer claims its due to hitting a pothole and a driver issue. An independent mechanic indicated that doesn't hold true, since there is no damage to the tire, rim, shock absorber or strut along with the car being in alignment. I showed pictures to a master welder who indicated it looked like a failed weld seam. The car is inoperable in the current state given driving it could cause the strut to pierce the hood. On December 12/2/24 I reached out the American Honda Motor Inc, who then put me in touch with a case manager on 12/3 at which time I filed a failed part claim. They responded on 12/6/24 that the claim was denied. I ask for written confirmation of the decision, which they replied they don't provide written Commnication.

While driving on a 55 mph highway, in clear dry road, I heard an explosion. My sunroof had exploded, with so apparent cause. I was not following any vehicles. There were no wires or limbs overhead. Fortunately the inside cover was closed or the.driver and the passenger would have been covered in glass, and driving could have been impaired causing an accident. Upon researching, I have found I am not the only Honda CRV driver to whom this has happened.

On [XXX] at approximately 7am, I was driving eastbound on [XXX] in Missouri, just west of Waynesville, MO. Weather was clear, not a lot of traffic. My sunroof glass exploded. There were no cars around me, I had not seen anything fly out from anywhere and hit the sunroof and I don't recall hitting any type of large bump or pothole prior to the glass shattering. The noise it made was very loud; like an explosion. The sunshade was open at the time and the tempered glass shattered all over the inside of my car. Despite shattered glass everywhere, I was not injured. There were no passengers in the car at the time. Since most of the glass fell inside the cabin, I closed the sunshade so no more would fall on me and pulled over in Waynesville. I was then able to drive on to my destination in Florissant, MO with the sunshade closed. Once there, a mechanic broke out the rest of the glass for me and installed crash wrap until I could get the window fixed. He also vacuumed out as much glass from the cabin as he could. I contacted my insurance company, sent photos and a claim was started. In the end, my insurance company took care of the claim, minus deductible. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the glass exploding. I had also just had a multi point inspection with my tire rotation and oil change just 3 days prior at Pinegar Honda in Springfield, MO and there was no notation that the glass was cracked or otherwise compromised in any way. I don't know if this is a problem occurring with Honda CR V's or if it's just a fluke occurrence with my particular vehicle. The mechanic was unable to determine what caused the glass to shatter. I am reporting this just in case this is happening with other vehicles and the problem is more pervasive. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was parking in the garage in the condominium complex where I live. Because the spaces are narrow with a concrete post on the left of my space and a parked car on my right, rather than pull directly into my space I typically stop the car a few feet beyond my space, reverse to align my car with the spot, and then pause to center the steering before I shift to drive. At this point the parking spot is about one car length in front of me. On this particular afternoon, as soon as I put the car into drive, it abruptly accelerated and in the split second before I hit the concrete wall directly in front of me I knew that I had no control over the car's speed. Upon impact, the airbag deployed giving me a sternal fracture and other bruising. I do not know why this sudden acceleration occurred, since I had stopped and carefully positioned the car to slowly move forward into my parking space. After the accident, I checked the floor mat (having heard that sometimes can interfere with the gas pedal) but the floor mat was securely in place. The car was towed to the repair shop and a week later the insurance company declared my car a total loss. When I asked the repair shop if they could tell what caused this sudden acceleration they suggested trying to secure the car's black box, and I mentioned this to the insurance representative. The insurance company have since moved the car to be used for salvage. I do not know what caused sudden acceleration. I can only assume the problem was electrical or computer, as opposed to human error. I am submitting this report in the hopes that others will be protected from being hurt in accidents like this.

Door Actuator and yes it is available for inspection. Yes, I was locked inside of the vehicle one time (recorded a video of it and showed it to Metro Honda service parts employee). No, the dealer did not conduct a vehicle diagnostic (the vehicle was over the warranty mileage by a couple hundred miles). No Police report. No warnings prior to the door actuator issues.

The driver's side rear window appears to have spontaneously shattered completely while the locked vehicle was parked in the driveway in front of the house. Two guard dogs were sleeping inside the house about 20 feet from the vehicle, and they never barked once. The back seat and floor were covered with chards of glass as was the driveway as far as 8 feet from the vehicle. The window appears to have exploded in two directions at the same time. There were no visible scratches or chips on the window before it shattered. Nothing inside the vehicle was disturbed otherwise. The damage was reported to my insurance company and my Honda dealer neither of whom could offer any explanation. The damage was not inspected by anyone other than myself and members of my family. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to this event. The rear driver's side window and door were operating normally.

My 2021 sunroof shattered out of no where when i was driving, nothing fell on it and no cars nearby so it was not rocks. I think this should be looked into because there are many owners who have reported the same issue. I contact my local dealer and they were in denial but it is very dangerous since the glass from the sunroof was falling on me while i was driving it could have caused a major accident and should definitely be looked into. Sometimes when I turn on my car the dashboard flickers where you are not able to read the screen another safety concern if i cant see certain information. My car only has 8000 miles on it any my battery is still good so I am not sure why there is all these issues.

My steering wheel jerks me back when I try to turn right and other times it will stick when I turn right and I have to jerk the wheel back straight. It is also jerky when traveling straight down the highway - just worse when turning right. After taking it to a mechanic, he found nothing. I took it to the dealership and was told I have to replace the entire steering system. I see there have been LOTS of reports of this and there is now a lawsuit against Honda. I have an open case with Honda and am trying to get them to pay for the repair. They can't give me any reason for the "failure". My car is almost 2 years old!

2021 Honda CRV, went for first oil change, upon inspection if was discovered that strut tower came apart. Insurance adjuster inspected the vehicle and determined there is absolutely no physical damage that could have cause this welded piece to come apart and must be factory defect. Honda denied and does not want to acknowledge manufacturer defect. Vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive.

I purchased Brand new Honda CRV 2021 from Manhasset dealer in April 2021, since then this happened few times randomly that the trunk would not open completely and it gets stuck few inches up, manually or with foot sensor it would not open right away and we need to close back and try again few times so it opens all the way up, also in August while taking the stuff out from the trunk it start closing on me and my elderly mom and it would not stop, we were about to get injured that day very badly, hardly escaped from the closing trunk, I brought this to attention of Honda dealer during first and 2nd service but as per them trunk closed properly and they would not do anything for this. They said we can not give you new vehicle for this we know you are not lying but sorry we can not help. I did not ask for new vehicle I wanted to fix my car issue only. Till now this is happening, I sent them email request as well for this issue to be fixed but I did not get any response.
