About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
My cars steering wheels starts to -??stick-?? the further I drive. I notice when I-??m driving on the interstate if my car starts to veer the steering wheel doesn-??t easily turn. I have to yank the wheel in order to veer the car back on the road. I notice it started happening around November 2023 and it occurs most frequently the farther I drive.

My vehicle component or system that I believed malfunctioned was the steering wheel. My vehicle steering wheel feels at times like it got lock while driving on the highway and off the highway. My vehicle is available for inspection at any time upon request. Due to this problem with my vehicle I panic for a couple of seconds, took my eyes off the road, without keeping a safe distance with other drivers. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. I have taken my vehicle for regular services and have reported this problem to my dealer. But nothing has been found wrong with my vehicle as of today. My vehicle has not been inspected by the police, insurance representative or others since my dealership has not found anything wrong with it. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the problems. I have taken my vehicle for other concerts as well that have been corrected but this with my steering wheel.

Transmission not shifting and losing power while in traffic. RPM'S goes really high while driving on flat land and uphill. This has happened numerous times putting me in danger while in traffic. It is not continuous but spontaneous. It causes deceleration like my transmission is not working.

On 1/6/24 I started my 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport (5,500 miles) and every warning light on the dashboard (brakes, tires, check engine) was on. The error messages displayed said "emissions system problem, avoid heavy acceleration & high speed". It repeated this message for the power brakes, power steering, ABS, hybrid system, and all of the ADAS systems. Took to the dealer and they reset the codes and it drove normally. Problem re-occurred on 1/8/24, same symptoms. Dealer stated the wire harness for the radar camera needed to be replaced, it was replaced under warranty. The issue repeated on 1/19/24 however when I began to drive to the dealership, the car completely stalled while I was in heavy traffic on the highway, losing acceleration, power braking and power steering and forced me to coast and pull over. I was able to restart the car and use limp mode to the dealer. They stated the electronic throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. This part is backordered and I am still waiting on a replacement part. Online research shows this happening to others without any resolution from the dealer. I feel like this is a dangerous safety issue due to me losing power in heavy highway traffic and a recall needs to be created.

The power steering of the vehicle is malfunctioning while driving on the freeway. The steering feels like it gets -??stuck-?? and doesn-??t correct itself. Even if the car goes out of the lane, it maintains its position and doesn-??t correct itself. Thus, One has to add force to correct the steering. The dealership has confirmed the issue and has estimated that the parts will arrive by April 2024.

Yesterday, temporarily, the car would not move when placed in gear. It was parked in our car port. Everything seemed to be normal until the car was placed in reverse (R). Pressure on the gas pedal produced no response. Putting the car in drive (D) also produced no response. All the settings seemed normal, no brake lock engaged etc. Powering the car off and then back on did not improve the situation until about the third attempt, when spontaneously the car resumed normal functions. The safety risk is that there are times when in an emergency, one must reverse the car out of an intersection to avoid a collision, or otherwise move backward, for example to allow an emergency vehicle to cross lanes. If the car suddenly becomes immobile, there are many situations in which this could be dangerous. Just knowing that the transmission is unreliable is a great concern. We are making an appointment with the dealer for a routine oil change, and will report the issue to him at that time. The auto has also had one recall which was attended by the dealer. Also, a similar problem was reported on a website involving a 2021 CRV. See https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/crv-not-reversing-when-put-into-r.221332/

At approximately 9:30pm CST Saturday June 17th my 2023 Honda CRV Sport Touring has a rapid loss of power while travelling on the I-55 expressway in Illinois before the Weber Rd exit. Received critical engine failure error message and transmission failure error message. Final error was emission system error. Engine block was shaking severely - car could not move. Car towed to dealership where purchased, Valley Honda in Aurora IL. Has been with their service since then. They said piston was misfiring. They were talking about breaking down the engine but moved in a different engine. May need fuel injectors replaced - but shortage of those. Waiting for update, next step may be for me to meet with sales (hopefully for refund or buyback). Please contact me if you need additional information.
