This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
Sticky steering during minor adjustments while driving in a straight line. Steering resists and then suddenly releases often causing an overcorrection, and so on, and so on. Very annoying.

Steering is sticky and when I use lane assist it is worse, so I don't use it. This happens on the highway going around 60-70 mph. It feels like it momentarily loses automatic steering. Cornering on the highway is not smooth like my 2020 CRV was. This has happened serval times, but this is my first complaint on here.

Unfortunately, I had a similar problem with vehicle instability and steering with a new 2017 Honda Accord LX.
Three years later, thought it was me until trying to avoid a car to my right speeding to cut me off to enter a highway ramp on my left. I landed in this long unrepaired pothole and the car was totaled at low speed.
My first test drive I thought maybe I just need to get used to the car and the lanes are narrow.
I do highway driving and now must drive pretty slow to stay in the lane and avoid veering off to the right or left. This is terribly unsafe for me and the vehicle feels unstable.

On my 2024 Honda crv ex-l the steering sticks, you have to constantly be correcting it. it is annoying and one could easily over compensate causing an accident.

Brand new 2024 CR-V with faulty electronic power steering - sticking and jerking - known issue and under NHTSA investigation. 2400 miles and owned 3 months when this occurred and Honda states national backorder and want me to wait 3-4 months to have vehicle sit to be repaired. Deplorable warranty support with known faulty parts and no availability to remedy yet they deliver new stock daily to car dealers.

At 4000 miles went on 1000 mile trip. after about an hour noticed steering getting sticky. Cruising on xway and as adjust steering a little as we always need to do, a resistance developed that I have to overcome. if I need to move again on same maneuver it sticks again. I see others reporting similar problem. Now when I start a trip of any kind it seems fine for a few miles and then same problem. I have tested it with lkas on and off. I have tested the lane departure on and off. the only relief I have found is lkas on with it set on warning only for no steering wheel vibration. I don't want to always drive with those settings. This problem is extremely annoying and could be dangerous
.
My sense is the lkas affect is because the computer has taken over and is keeping vehicle centered. At this point I think it might be mechanical and the safety functions are fighting it. some of the web comments indicate a steering frame solution which does make some sense..
So far been to dealer (serra honda) once and they claim are not familiar with issue though it is easy to find on the web. They liked to say that all systems are different and that's just the way this one is. They wanted to educate me on lkas til I told them I have had 3 other vehicles with lkas and never experienced this. I told them no one would build a car that does this. They were no help. even suggested it did it from day 1 and I just didn't notice it.
When I research I select the 2023 version of my crv since it has not changed and has more experience. I have owned 3 other hondas over the years; this could be my last if I cant get this solved.

Brand new 2024 CRV had steering problems early on. At about 1,000 miles, the power steering is intermittently “sticky” or heavy to use. Goes back and forth between normal and heavy steering. It’s like it becomes “manual steering” (no power) briefly, then feels more normal and it goes back and forth like that. Especially occurs after the car has been driven a while, 45 minutes to an hour and when on longer highway trips at higher-speed. Hard to maintain the car in the center of the lanes. On and off heavy steering stresses the arms out having to be constantly vigilant to keep control of the car. Research shows these symptoms are the same as experienced by owners of the 2022 and 2023 Civics and the 2023 CRV as well. Dealer cannot duplicate the symptoms on their shorter test drives, so they don’t acknowledge that the problem is real.
