Was opening the window at a toll booth on a cold night, and the window was going down very slowly then popped off the track and then wouldn't go up or down. I decided to see if I could fix it myself, which after an hour of tinkering, pulling apart the door, it was simple to put it back on track. However, a month later, it happened again, then again, then again. We looked into getting it fixed but it was going to be several hundred dollars, so we said no. I put some grease in the track of the window to see if that would make it go up and down easier, and not cause the regulator to bend, shift, and come undone. Worked fine for about 4 years, then it seemed like it was getting close to happening again. This time I used silicone spray, which is a better option than grease, and can be picked up at any auto store for a few bucks a can. Its been 8 or nine years, since the last time it popped out of the track now.

The regulator and misc. parts would throw the window off line when rolling the window up. Eventually the window wouldn't roll up at all and would be stuck open. I took it to the Honda dealer and they fixed it. One of the service men told me that this year car has this common problem.

The windows in my 1997 Civic go off the tracks, and I heard new tracks and regulators might solve the problem, or should, but what seems to be happening is factory error. That is the important note, that there should be a recall for this model since it is an increasing problem for more and more vehicles. It is not operator error. Windows are supposed to be able to go up and down all day. I love Honda, but they need to do something about this-it is a security issue for many people with half windows right now. My tint is done for too, and it looks like hell.

The window fall off track a lot. Even if you put it back its hard tot urn and it messes up your tint. The engine of the car is excellent and so is the transmission.

The window is so f*cked up. It won't go up all the way and it won't go down at all, it's open all the time. People can steal it if they want to but they won't because it's such a piece of sh*t car.

This has became a regular problem for my car so I leave the door panel off. You can fix it yourself by taking the door panel off and taking off the screw and the washer and putting it back on track. It still falls off about once a month. It scratches up my tint on my windows every time it falls off track, so I will have to pay to get that window retinted.

I hate the dealership I purchased my car from. The window keeps going off the track, I keep bringing it back to get fixed and each time they tell me it is something different. It is also very convienient that they couldn't find anything wrong at all until my extended warenty expired. Don't use Fred Beans!

The two hand crank door windows fall off track. Then the tracks and drive gears had to be replaced.
Honda has a great reputation, but this simply stupid design problem takes Honda so far down.
