HONDA MAKES GREAT CARS, BUT CARS 1998 TO PRESENT HAVE A MAJOR PAINT PEELING PROBLEM. HONDA IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. HONDA TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING SINCE MY CAR IS OLDER THAN 3 YEARS OLD!
HONDA SHOULD STAND BEHIND ALL THEIR VEHICLES.
I SEE SO MANY OLDER HONDAS ON THE ROAD. THE CARS HAVE HORRIBLE PEELING PAINT PROBLEMS.

My paint has peeled completely off by the right side of my hood and between the side body panel. It is also starting to peel off the bumper as well. Kind of messes up the re-sale value.

About 50% of the paint has peeled off of the roof and hood. Maybe it is just the clear coat that has peeled. There is paint or primer that is very dull undernearth. Looks like the car has a skin disease. I can take pictures, if needed. I have seen other Honda Civic's with this same defect, but mine is as bad or worse than any others I have seen.
Update from Jan 28, 2014: The paint was already peeling when I purchased the vehicle, so I do not know exactly the milage at which the peeling began. The peeling has gotten a lot worse in the the 4.5 years I have owned the cars. I see Honda Civics with the same body style with peeling paint all the time.

The paint peeling off down to the metal is definitely a problem, and has been reported on by many users. Although it doesn't affect the way the car runs, It significantly affects the resale value, which is a problem for me.

Honda says that this is the result of me not caring for the car's exterior properly and they refuse any responsibility
