Both sun visors started falling apart in my car last year (2008). The driver side started ripping and the plastic thing that closes over the mirror won't close anymore and it blocks my view when I'm trying to drive. I put it down to cover the sun from my eyes and the visor is flopping and obstructing my line of sight to other cars. How is this not a safety concern? Why is there no recall? Not enough accidents have happened to mandate a recall? The passenger side had the mirror slip out from the plastic piece. I guess the cheap glue won't hold it in? I bought new mirrors on ebay for 80.00 dollars. Now I have to find someone to install them or pay an independent car place to install them. Since the driver's side mirror flopped down, I had to remove the the plastic piece because I don't need an accident.

Update from Nov 10, 2009: I have updated this with pics.
