Civic EX 1.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,125 miles

Was driving home and suddenly there was a loud sound as if someone had hit my car and shattered a window. Turns out, the power window regulator just decided to self-destruct in my driver side door. Window was then stuck down. Fortunately, I live in San Diego so it was not terribly inconvenient from a weather perspective, but certainly not a great security feature. Cost me $305 to get the new part and installation at the dealer near my office and they were able to do it within a few hours. My usual dealer told me they had to order the part and it would be an overnight job = $$$$. Other dealer then tried to sell me a $1000 strut job, though. Can't win with Honda. This is about the 5th lemon part in this car.

Civic LX 1.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

I bought this 2002 Honda Civic brand new and at 50,000 miles it began to have an electrical issue with the drivers side & back windows not rolling down with the power locks.

I was told it would cost $95 to diagnose & $250-400 to repair.

Civic EX 1.7lt Vtec

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,000 miles

One day the window just stopped working. Never had it fixed, because I rarely roll down the windows anyway, but I'm guessing the power window motor failed.
