Never fun to deal with a malfunctioning car but had I installed the part myself, I could have saved $180. I could have ordered the part online and waited a few days for delivery. Other than that, was lucky to have an honest mechanic that could diagnose accurately the problem and do a repair same day. I think with many vehicles often the problem is with those working and servicing the vehicle more so than the vehicle, but true enough, sometimes things do just go faulty. Cars these days are so much better than the vehicles of pre 1990. This seems to be a good value car. I suggest to keep your fluids clean and check reviews in your area for good mechanics. Check your manual for service intervals and use Honda fluids not generic. Go by your manual guidelines.

My car started fine for one week after my last experience with the Lia Honda Dealer/Service Area in Williamsville, NY. For one week I didn't have to jump my car to get it started. Then out of the blue, after work one day I went to go home and needed to jump my car to get it going. The only difference I noticed was that I had used the CD player when I was driving into work. Can a CD left in your car's CD player drain a car battery? Since my Honda Service shop can't find anything wrong with my car, I'm forced to troubleshoot the problem on my own. It's extremely frustrating that they can not help me. I honestly don't know if I'll buy another Honda after going through this nightmare. Everyone has told me that Honda's are the best. I beg to differ.

One morning my car wouldn't start. Had to get a jump. Bought a new battery for approximately $120, and had all the diagnostic tests done on the battery to make sure it was quality. Next morning, car wouldn't start again. Took it to the local Honda Service Dealer who diagnosed I needed a new alternator totaling $567. Next morning, car wouldn't start again or take a jump. Had it towed back to the Honda Service Dealer and rented a car for $70 since they didn't have a loaner available. I was told I needed a new fuse in order to jump the car and that I left my headlights on, which I know I didn't. After handing the cashier another check for $57, I went to get in my car which was in their service lot and it wouldn't start again. The Honda mechanic and my service rep gave me a jump and instructed me to drive around for about 30 minutes to recharge the battery. The next day, when I got out of work at 5pm in the downtown area, my car wouldn't start again. I got a jump, took it back to the Honda Dealer and they kept it overnight. They worked on it the next day, all day, and informed me that they could not find anything wrong with it. It has only been two days of successful starting. When/if my car does not start again, can you offer any assistance to my Honda mechanic?
