At about 215,000 miles the A/C started shutting off arbitrarily, some days it would work, some days it would not. Some days it would work in the morning, but after parking the car for a few hours, it wouldn't work. I had the issue looked at and the mechanic said everything looked great and in working order but each time he tried to turn it on the compressor would not engage. After he looked at it and was unsuccessful, I got in, tried the A/C once again and what do you know, it worked my whole drive home... I was told the only way to get the problem fixed would be to replace the entire system which would be far too expensive a job for an old car with that many miles. We deal with the issue by praying every hot day that she might just be feeling nice that day and will work for us. It still works sometimes, but usually shuts off after a few minutes, or if your unusually lucky, an hour.

AC was replaced while still in warranty. It started to make loud noise in about 2012--I was told it was too expensive to fix.
