Civic EX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 122,000 miles

Just 20 months and 18,000 miles after I completely replaced my rear rotors, pads, and calipers due to a stuck piston, AGAIN I WILL be paying $700 to replace all these parts due to a frozen rear caliper. My extended warranty expired a few WEEKS ago but would have covered this.

Previous work -

Labor warranty 12 mo/12,000

Caliper warranty 90 days

Brake pads are still under warranty.

This Civic has been a pain in my butt.

Civic EX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

My car has 90,000 miles on it and it's now on the 3rd set of rear brakes. I replaced BOTH rear calipers along with new pads and rotors for BOTH sides.Did the job myself and cost me $250 in parts from Auto Zone. Factory Calipers should NOT go bad this soon !!

Civic EX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

I have had the car since new. Pretty decent little car. Not much to brag or complain about. I did get about 44 mpg once. OK.. Always dealer serviced...Dealer recommended replace all brakes 2 weeks ago at routine state safety inspection. Car has 36,000 miles on it. Upon further questioning dealer stated that rear brakes were still ok to pass.. so I said leave them for now (didn't have the additional $240 he wanted to replace them) SO today I go to replace my own rear brake pads and the caliper is frozen...Dealer didn't notice it in his estimate Now am I going to have warranty trouble getting the caliper replaced??? I will let everyone know.
