Civic EX

  • Manual transmission

The issue started on the highway when I noticed the emission light started to blink and my car started to lose acceleration. Luckily an exit was close and I was able to get off I95 and get off to the shoulder. where the car died. My mechanic is puzzled at the fact that the computer keeps saying it is misfiring even though the ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel injectors were changed out. He ran it on the highway and it was fine I picked it up after paying 900.00 for the repair and I got it 2 blocks and the same thing happened. Now it is in the Honda dealership and they are trying to find out why it is acting up.

Update from Jun 23, 2017: Update on my problem. Initially I had my car inspected, and had struts installed, and a new serpentine belt. This issue started approximately 2 days after the work was done. The problem after all the money spent and going back to my mechanic and the Honda dealership (7-27 to 9-6) The root cause was a faulty serpentine belt. It was not talking to the computer right and in turn the computer was saying the engine was misfiring. I spent a lot of money to get it repaired for a stupid faulty serpentine belt. My mechanic refunded me 300.00 but the manufacturer of the belt is not taking any responsibility whatsoever. I got all kinds of replacement parts that were not needed yet.

The car runs great ever since this incident it has about 127,00 miles on it now.
