My car ran fine when started but the a few minutes later, it goes into limp mode where I cannot accelerate. Then it stalls out and now it won't restart. I do not know exactly what the problem is but my check engine light, IMA and red battery light comes on when it happened. As of now, my car is not even starting. This almost caused an accident because I was driving on the freeway when it randomly decided to go into this limp mode

Car lost power while trying to make a left turn across traffic. IMA battery charge dropped and no assist was delivered. Oncoming car was able to stop in time, but barely. This has now happened on a number of occasions. Car lost power while climbing a hill in a residential neighborhood (15 MPH) and barely made it to the top. Car lost power while climbing a short steep driveway and could not ascend; had to roll backwards and "force charge" the IMA battery in low gear for 10 minutes, after which I was able to climb the driveway easily. Decided to replace the IMA battery due to obvious malfunction although no codes were being thrown. Problem improved significantly but once again experienced lack of power on steep, low-speed hills and in our driveway. Battery software seems schizophrenic, deciding to charge itself rather than assist when power is needed, such as hills or merging into or across traffic, even when there seems to be ample battery reserve (for example, after swapping out the IMA battery it refused to provide assist on the hill with approximately 40% remaining -- 4 bars -- but will gladly provide assist at 50% + battery charge. Sometimes battery does not charge while braking downhill even though charge is needed. Unpredictable. The sudden loss of power whenever the IMA Assist decides that it't* going to help is extremely dangerous. Honda is aware of this problem but has not offered any solutions outside of 150k / 15 year warranty on the IMA battery, which has lapsed on our 2006. Reluctant to let my young adult daughter drive this car as loss of power while merging or crossing lanes of traffic could result in a serious accident.

*****BOTH KEY TRANSPONDERS WERE RESPONSIVE TO THE CAR TODAY, IE GREEN KEY LIGHT LIT WHEN BOTH KEYS WERE INSERTED AND TURNED TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE ALLOWING THE CAR RADIO AND WINDOWS TO BE CONTROLLED, UNLIKE OTHER DAYS WHERE FRAUD OCCURRED SO THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE BOTH AND ONLY ONE OR THE OTHER***** Unidentified party, most likely remotely, Stole control of my vehicle through manipulating non factory installed equipment that was installed after market and using factory installed equipment in a manner not openly discussed with the purchaser and owner. If it-??s the police again or the manufacturer/ dealership or any court, has never disclosed or notified ownership or responsibility of such activities for now ten years. Spoke to manager again to inform that vehicle was again manipulated in retaliation to returning the gym when no open discussion occurred or report was received about not continuing a relationship between 24 Hour Fitness and myself as a member. Female onsite manager received reports that vehicle would not turn on again due to security alarm restriction, not mechanical failures, and that such activity was ongoing activity in furtherance of other abuses related to visiting that gym, such as vehicle and locker searches, which although not communicated to the manager, never resulted in further contact by the police or any authority regarding its occurrence.

Initial Official Manufacturer Franchise New Vehicle Dealer Sponsored After Market Security Alarm, KARRS System; Official Manufacturer Factory Alarm; and GPS Navigation Radio System. Alarm was successfully set off several times within the time frames selected to protect the sleep and rest of the community, violating City of Walnut, CA municipal order 3.40.030 Certain noise prohibited. No. Only AAA. Usually drains battery. Yes. West Covina Honda R.O. 734681, aside from others; and Ontario Honda Tag 360212. There weren't any messages prior to the failure. Car went into similar mode that exists when one or more of the alarms are active. Both alarms were uninstalled, aside from the immobilizer and key component. At W.C. Honda, the green key light illuminated during R.O. Ontario Honda didn't provide details regarding inspection other than no issues found. Confidentiality not high; observers constantly get details and mock when possible w/o detection or punishment, inclusion non deterrent. Always seems to be protecting harasser/ criminal activity. Such activities make obvious that dealer service repair is similar to a closed examination campus, i.e. cannot always reproduce problem.

Key for this make is not recognized. Honda said it is a "inmobilization system issue. Key flashes on dashboard and it wont start (key programmed). They know about this problem for this year. I'm concerned it can stop at any given moment causing an accident.

I have the common issue the 2006 Civic. My engine block cracked. There was already a class action lawsuit on this matter but of course it only went 10 years. Honda was in the wrong here. Why was this not a recall? I'm super frustrated. Car is available for inspection. It is at the Honda dealership right. Now.

Request for issuance of recall. 2006 Civic: Engine does not start, and the immobilizer system makes car inoperable, especially if the battery recently went dead and the engine was jump-started. The dome light in my car, 2006 Civic ex sedan, was left on the and battery was dead, and then car was jump started. After that the immobilizer system prevented the car from starting. 1. this is a well-known design defect (Honda defect code: 03217) reported in many, many postings and comments on the internet, over many years, from 2006 until recently, both here in the U.S. and in the uk. See extracts from numerous internet reports in attachment (internet reports - problem.docx). 2. there is no warning about this problem or information in the owner's manual for this car, or any notification from Honda, on the correct way to jump start the car to avoid the problem. See jump starting section in attachment (2006 ex owner's manual.pdf) 3. Honda has issued: "service bulletin - August 2, 2006 06-036 - immobilizer indicator is blinking, engine won't start symptom the engine does not start, and the immobilizer indicator is blinking (especially if the battery recently went dead and the engine was jump-started). Probable cause the immobilizer imoes code has been erased. Vehicles affected: 2006 Civic 4-door LX and ex (usa-produced) ' from VIN 1hgfa1...6L000001 thru 1hgfa1...6L118712 corrective action replace the under-dash fuse/relay box (micu - multiplex integrated control unit) 2006 Civic ex 4-door A/T ' P/N 38200-sna-A32, H/C 8356198" see the complete Honda service bulletin 2009-08-23_151940_immob.pdf in attachment (service bulletin 06-036.pdf) cost of repair to customer - approx. $700-$800. An expensive repair should not be needed simply for jump starting a car with a dead battery - a normal procedure that any car can sometimes need. A recall should be issued.

Paint has peeled from the whole car. Honda created a recall and never informed me. I had taken the car to the dealership for service during the recall and they never mentioned it. Once I noticed there was a recall I contacted them but they said it was too late. However, I was never informed and they said nothing during dealer visits. I have heard they don't want to notify people because the fix is very expensive as it is done outside of the dealership by private companies they partner with. I had to pay out of pocket for what should have been covered by their recall.

The ima system keeps kicking on after driving it when you come to a full stop and put it in park and causing the car to stay in park and not able to get it in gear. Wait a little over 30 minutes and try again and it will allow you to put it in gear and drive. I have done the recall however it is still doing the samething.

There was a recall on the engine. They stopped it at 10 yes and mine had failed at 11 yrs. It was a known manufacturers defect. Yet will do nothing after 10 yrs. This is wrong!..it is the engine the main component that runs the car. There should be no limit put on the length of this recall when they know they are at fault for such a defect. You can't run a car without an engine..people keep there cars longer these days. I believe they should cover this indefinitely!.I got no help at all from the dealer and had to replace engine and radiator because it also ruined that.

My axle broke in half basically, and my mechanic said he's only seen that one other time and it was also in a Honda Civic. Also, two other people who work on cars said they've never seen this, that it usually fails at the cv joint and said it sounded like there was a defect. I was going from first gear to second (manual transmission), and all of a sudden it wouldn't go, and there was a clunking noise. I had to have it towed to the mechanic's which cost me $167, and the repair is going to be approximately $200. I do not have documentation of either right now as it is in the shop as I write this waiting for the part. I just felt that since this seems to be out of the ordinary in terms of how this failure usually occurs, I thought I should report it.

I need help with this, and will keep escalating since this matter doesn't seem to be important enough for an investigation.

I have contacted corporate Honda and my local dealership trying to get information pertaining to a rear wheel bearing recall. Corporate Honda's records show the recall was completed back in October of 2008 but do not have records of any parts that were replaced. All of the symptoms I am experiencing are exactly what is outlined in the recall but I am being led in circles trying to get this resolved. It is frightening to drive and due to financial constraints I can not risk the inspection fee that I am being told I will have to pay. If no parts are on record for being replaced then this should be taken care of without question. Corporate Honda nor my local dealership has shown any concern for my situation while appearing to dismiss my concerns.
