2006 Honda Civic sun visor broken (again). This is the third time my 2006 Honda Civic sun visor has broken. The first time it was replaced under warranty within the first year of owning the car. The second time the car was 2K miles out of warranty but they said they would replace it that one last time. Now it is broken again! if you google "Honda Civic sun visor" you will find thousands of people with this problem. The sun visor splits in half and can no longer be put up (stored position). When the plastic frame of the visor splits, the visor hangs straight down blocking your vision when driving. Because of this, my vision is constantly blocked and I find myself bending down while driving to see if traffic lights are green or red. It can also block my view of a pedestrian stepping off of the curb into the crosswalk. This is a major safety hazard and Honda doesn't want to replace these after the warranty is up although they have a tsb on it. In addition to my view of the road being blocked by this plastic framed sun visor, I'm also afraid if I was in an accident, my face or a passengers could hit the sun visor and the visor could cause major trauma to a human.

2007 Honda Civic. Drivers side sun visor has cracked. Won't stay closed (retracted against the ceiling). Falls down in front of view frequently. This is a common problem with these cars since 2006 when the sun visor design was modified to its current design. Should be considered a severe safety issue. Solutions include: 1) removing the sun visor; not safe. 2) ignoring the problem; when sun visor falls down in front of eyes it's not safe. 3) replacing the sun visor; Honda refuses to provide a free replacement even though there is good documentation on the nature of the problem and duration of the problem. The sun visors on my 2006 Honda Civic ex have been breaking routinely about once a year. I have taken the car to the Honda dealer for repair and they simply replace the broken visor. However, they have not redesigned the faulty visor design and they will continue breaking. This is a safety concern, as the visors break and hang off blocking the drivers ability to clearly see the road.

The plastic pieces inside the sunvisors have snapped and are now hanging down. This is a safety hazard because it is always in my face. I have a 2006 Honda Civic si and have read a plethora of complaints from multiple customers with the same problem; some have replaced their visors several times (out of pocket). This is absolutely a design flaw, which is wide-spread across the country. I live in Ohio and the summers are quite warm, but not as hot as Arizona; many complaints I've read are felt to be heat-related. However, no matter where in the country one lives, it can easily be over 110 degrees in a closed car, which should have been considered when designing these visors.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic ex 4 door. Both sun visors have failed and fall into the field of vision, making operation of the vehicle dangerous. Honda as of yet has not called a recall. My warranty has expired and my extended warranty does not cover this issue. Honda claims that this is "cosmetic" and does not cover this under its extended plan.

Sun visors on both driver and passenger sides constantly split open causing them to hang down (unable to put sun visor up) blocking line of sight. Visors have been replaced once under warranty but continually break. Forced to drive with hanging visor blocking line of sight or driving with no visor at all risking sun blinding at certain time of the day. Upon looking at forums online I've noticed that several, several people have this same issue. Visors appear to be melting with heat from sun. Bad design since the visor will obviously be exposed to the sun.

2006 Honda Civic coupe - driver side sun visor split and falls down to block view while driving and hit my head getting out of the car. Seem to be a lot of complaint on the internet about the same thing. I have an extended warrant, but was told it didn't cover these type of parts.

2006 Honda Civic - sunvisor fell apart drivers side sunvisor fell apart and obstructed view while vehicle was in motion. Performed research and found that this is a common occurrence. Honda needs a redesigned sunvisor as this is a safety hazard. I.e. view obstructed while traveling in traffic.

This is a 2006 Honda Civic.plastic shrouding around mounting section of sun visor is unnecessarily cheap and will not withstand interior summer temperatures. Eventually, the visor warps and will not remain in an upright position. The visor obstructs the driver's vision and is a potentially serious safety issue!

The sun visor on my 2006 Honda Civic split open and now will not stay up. As a tall person this blocks my view of the road and causes a safety hazard. The sun visor split during the summer months in Florida when it was about 98 degrees outside. This apparently is not uncommon with this visor in the heat.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic with 59,700 miles. I have had to replace three sun visors during the past three years because the plastic casing splits, causing the visor to hang down (it will not stay up). This is a safety problem for the driver because it blocks the driver's vision. The dealership has told me that this is a design problem.
