Sun visor on M, Y 2006 Honda Civic broke along attach point. Visor will no longer stay up and out of vision, cannot see to drive or its pointing right at my face-if in a collision, would probably decapitate me.

I am an owner of a 2006 Honda Civic ex coupe. Since the purchased, I have noticed a constant clicking coming from the sun visor. Just recently, the driver side visor cracked and is now permanently hanging down in my field of vision. It does not fold back up and is becoming a distraction while I am driving. I have also had the plastic particles from the crack fly into my eyes when I had the window down. I've read over 200 complaints online and everyone seems to have similar problems. Unlike many owners who had to have their visors replaced several times, I am fortunate to say that this will be my first. I finally brought my car in today to have it replaced but only to find out that it is no longer covered under my warranty. I was told it would cost $70 to have it replaced. This has certainly become a safety problem given that the broken visor is hanging down and blocking half of my windshield when there is no sun and when there is sun, it is not properly blocking it.

The driver's side sun visor fell off onto my lap while driving. This defect occurred just after the warranty expired. When needed I manually install the visor onto the post and lock it in. It swings back and forth under acceleration and braking. When not need I remove it for better visibility. I am planning on having it repaired but from what I have been reading, this has happened to many others and Honda is not addressing the issue.

Driving in rain, windshield wipers on intermittent, and they started running full - not intermittant. Moved wiper switch to full, and back to intermittent, without any change. Moved wiper switch to fast, and back to full and intermittent, and still no change. Turned wipers off, but they kept running while switch was in the off position. Pulled off highway. Moved switch postion back and forth and then back to off. Wipers still kept running. Turned off car, wipers stopped. Waited a few minutes, started car, wipers started up even though switch still in off position. Wipers swept twice, and then froze in the full up position. Turned off car again. Restarted car, was able to get wipers to run intermittent again, but kept them that way for remainder of ride home. Was afraid to change switch position again for fear of complete failure and being stranded far from home in the rain with no wipers. After research, I now see that there is a Honda tsb 07-071 dated Nov 22, 2007 for this issue that supersedes another from Oct 19, 2007.

The sun visors on my daughters 2006 Honda Civic have completely fell apart. I have been reading on line that this is a frequent occurrence. Thankfully my daughter was not moving her vehicle at the time they fell or she could have been involved in an accident. With the increasing frequency of this- I think Honda should issue a recall for this and repair them for free. But, I have been told "the car is no longer under warranty and the repair will be over $100. But, I have read online that people are having to replace them over and over again and I can't afford that! something needs to be done.

The sun visor is split and will not stay in the up position and hangs down and can not be adjusted. It blocks vision for safe driving and has to be moved to the side which blocks peripheral vision. It also can't be used to block the sun coming in the window at certain angels. It has been broken for awhile but it is not easy to get in to the dealer with my work schedule. I am within the 3 year warranty but over the 36K miles because I drive quite a distance each day. My concern is paying to replace the sun visor and the many reports I have read that people have had to replace many times since the design/materials are flawed. This is an unsafe feature of the car and I hope that Honda would recall them.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic ex and as I was going down the highway in afternoon traffic the sun was shining I my eyes so I went to put the visor down and it fell off in my lap and I almost ran into another car. I have not fixed this because I felt like this should be a recall it's a new car. Why did Honda fix the later years if there isn't a problem. Please help us these new visors are $180.

My 2006 Honda Civic ex's sun visor broke... on both visors. The components inside the visor seemed like it got melted and the visor keeps falling down (wouldn't hold up). It got to a point where it would just drop and hinder my vision while driving. Very dangerous. Honda replaced it since I was still under warranty back then. Same problem with a friend's 2006 Honda Civic and she had her's replaced 3 times. This is too much frustration. Honda should recall these sun visor and replaced with better quality. Right now (2009), I'm afraid to use my Civic's sun visor coz I can see/feel the sun visor beginning to break down again (the plastic visor is begging to open up at the side everytime I move it up/down). And I'm outside my warranty already. This is a known problem on Honda Civic and there is no news of what Honda is doing about it. These sun visors should be recalled and replaced!!!!!

The sunvisor on my 2006 Honda Civic flopped down in my face unexpectedly blocking my view while I was driving. This sunvisor has already been replaced once before for the same problem. The service department said that this was a known problem but Honda still has not fix the problem. I guess it will take people having several accidents and possibility being killed or seriously injured before Honda will issue a recall on this known problem.

Driver's side sun-visor on 2006 Honda Civic is not usable. When pulled down to block the sun, the visor pulls apart. When trying to return the visor to the upright position, the visor gets stuck blocking the drivers view of the road. Seems to be something wrong with the glue because this only happens when the vehicle is parked in the sun, but occurs even if it is as cold as 30 degrees outside.

My 2006 Civic LX coupe has had problems with the windshield visors. I place a windshield shade daily when I park my car at work and use the visor to hold the shade in place. I've been having problems with the visor not being able to stay up because the plastic part that surrounds the rod splits open and the visor will not stay in the up position. A co-worker has a 2007 Civic and has had the same problem. The dealer replaced his visors and they told him that there was a bulletin on this issue. My Civic has 39000 miles and so I've passed the 36000 mile warranty limit. The dealer said that my warranty period is over since I was over 36000 miles. I have read that there have been a few complaints about this visor problem and I feel that this can cause a visibility problem. I understand that the warranty is over, but the visor has nothing to do with mileage.

2006 Honda Civic driver's side visor broken. At first the visor began to separate, and in the beginning I was able to squeeze the visor back together and then the visor just hung in my line of vision while driving. Now it will not go together and the visor hangs limp blocking my view somewhat. I know of two other 2006 Civic owners who have had the same problem. This is a safety hazard and should be recalled.

My sun visors continually break on my 2006 Honda Civic. The dealership has replaced them for free; however, it is a hassle to get them to do it. They try to charge me until I get fuming mad and tell them that this is my xx number of trips back to their dealership with the same problem. It is a safety hazard to have your sun visor crack or split and hang down in your face while you are driving. The sun visors used by Honda are inferior and need to be recalled and replaced with a better version.
