I own a 2007 Honda Civic si. I have heard a popping type sound coming from underneath the car or on the drivetrain. I hear it when going into or out of driveways. I have taken it to the dealership and they don't know what is wrong with it. Also I have had problems with third gearin my transmission. It seems like it does not want to grab third gear. I had to have my clutch replaced at 4K miles. I was told it had to have been my "hard shifting". I was told if it happens again, I am responsible for the repairs. I have taken my car several times after this incident to prevent it from happening again, and they say they cant make my car do the same thing that happens when I drive it. I am very frustrated that Honda will not step up and take care of the problem. Instead they want to blame it on my "poor driving".

I bought a 2007 Honda Civic si on December 18, 2006. In less than 700 miles the clutch burned out. Honda America agreed to pay for the labor to repair it, but wanted me to pay for the parts. ( about $300) they also agreed to pay for a rental car for four days while my car was being repaired. I see no reason why I should have to pay for the parts, since I consider the problem to be a factory defect. The car has a six speed manual transmission. I know how to drive a standard, and I'm convinced that I did nothing to cause this problem.
