On October 28, 2020, I was driving on a city street to work, when I heard a loud pop and saw a bright flash. All the dash lights came come then after a second everything shut off. The car stopped, but still rolling I pulled into a parking lot. I tried to open the door, but I couldn't. the locks would not move, on either door. Not manually. I was trapped inside. Thank goodness the car didn't start a fire, because I would not be able to get out. Not by opening the doors manually. The metal pole that holds the hood up came loose somehow and hit the battery, which made a short and shut everything down. Regardless, the car should unlock manually if the power locks don't work. I couldn't unlock from inside by pulling the handle or the locks would not move/open.

Takata air bag failed recall! my 2007 Honda Civic sedan has an inflator malfuction located in the driver side rear that keeps the airbag light on at all times. Ive taken it to valley high Honda 2differant occasions. 2009, 2016 the dealer said they wont fix it, I should go to pick a part. Honda America also told me they wont fix it. Not covered under warranty! the bags are not in working order due to the light being on and will not deploy if involved in an accident! I thought safety was #1 priority for Honda" I have all my documentation showing my multiple visits. My wife and children travel in this car daily. I would like some help fixing this so my family will be protected if in an accident.I received a recall notice but the dealer said its not covered. I am writing this complaint after receiving an auto airbag settlement card in the mail. I purchased the vehicle used from valley high Honda in 2007. The vehicle has never been involved in an accident while I have been the owner. I was told it wasnt in one prior to my purchase. I was informed by the same dealer that the inflator wiring was damaged and came disconnected from the inflator switch and that I was at fault. " I recently have moved and dont have all my docuents readily available, so I havent attached them yet. The airbag light had began coming on shortly after or near the time of my purchase of the car. I will send or attach my little bit of information/documents as soon as I can get settled and locate it.

Purchased 2007 Honda Civic new. Had issue with passenger side airbag light on 2008. Had dealer fix. Light came on 2009. Had dealer fix. Light came back on 2010. Now vehicle warranty period expired. Did not worry because passenger side air only and my son drive mostly by himself. Light have been on ever since. Brought car back to dealer for recall of airbags 7/2016. Had dealer look at side airbag light again. They tell me the I had a faulty floor harness and all my airbags will not work and cost of repair after discount to be $1600. I call american Honda on 8/1 to see if they will cover cost of repair. They did not. Base on my research, I feel this is very unfair. 2007 Honda Civic have this problem side airbag light issue code 32-10. I think my car faulty harness issue was there when I purchased the car new and it cause side airbag light to come on constantly and why the repair never lasted more than a few months. This is a safety issue same as with the seat belt and american Honda should cover cost of repair. American Honda has service notice concerning this problem with the Honda Civic only. My mileage is 85080 at this time.

During a routine oil change 'equipment inspection' was informed the third brake light was 'burned out'. as this is a multi-light led, the probability of the all the led to have failed was suspicious. Dealer rep was very sure entire unit required replacement and quoted a price of nearly $200 for repair of a piece of safety equipment. Deferred repair to further investigate. Web search shows this is a extremely common occurrence on 2007 and later Civics. Problem is not the led but the solder joints on the assembly which fail frequently. As this is a design deficiency in a piece of safety equipment, one would expect a recall to correct. Apparently as the problem requires 'immediate' repair in most states with annual safety inspections, it has not garnered sufficient traction with NHTSA to warrant action. (note: Actual fail date/mileage is unknown).

The SRS light on my Honda was on for the past month. This is a known issue that is affecting lots of Honda Civics of 2006 and 2007 that Honda refuses to acknowledge. The wiring harness has to be replaced and the passenger side weight sensor, which is close to a $2000 repair. When I asked Honda corporate (customer service [xxx] at 800-999-1009) I was arrogantly told they do not care because the car is outside of warranty. It is disgraceful that Honda markets safety in their vehicles, but does not stand behind their SRS system failing prematurely. This is not a wear and team item and no one sits in my car besides me. My Honda Civic hybrid is not safe please help. My 07 Honda Civic hybrid has a problem with the ima battery most times it indicates no charge very very very dangerous. One example I came to a turn signal to turn left there were aprrox 3 cars ahead of me the signal light turned green the cars ahead of me went my turn I accelerated no power my car creeped thru the intersection as I started my turn the signal light was yellow then turned red for me and green for the oncoming traffic I thought I was going to get hit on my passenger side. This was not the first time it happened but one of the most dangerous ones. Please help!

Original owner. After ima battery software upgrade owner now experiences random loss of battery power level. Battery indicator randomly falls to 1 bar and during this time, sluggish to poor acceleration, especially in highway merge situations placing owner is dangerous situations. When battery charged at least 50%, acceleration is acceptable as the ima assist in acceleration.

The vehicle's hybrid ima system (integrated motor assist) has been steadily deteriorating since approximately 40000 miles, but became hazardous at around 63000. Current mileage is 78500. The hybrid battery system must recharge so frequently that battery assist is available less than half the time. When assist is unavailable, acceleration is dangerously low, making common driving situations such as left turns, freeway onramps, and merging into traffic unpredictable and quite hazardous. Honda's only response has been a series of ineffective software updates. Honda will not replace the battery under warranty unless a warning light appears. Yet even the current severely degraded performance of the battery does not trigger that warning light. I have been in several "near miss" situations when acceleration was so sluggish that I was nearly unable to evade a dangerous traffic situation.

After battery upgrade due to Honda recall notice, the 2007 Civic hybrid battery does not hold its charge as well as it used to. This is dangerous in icy conditions, as accelerating is slow. It's also dangerous entering the expressway and making a quick left turn. If I expect the car to perform as it doe when the battery is working, I end up barely getting up to speed in time. I'm hesitant to contact Honda for a fix because of reports that this makes the problem worse and also decreases mpgs.

The dealer advised that the parts needed for repairs would not become available for two weeks. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed the dealer's information. The manufacturer then suggested calling several different dealers to determine if the part was in stock. The contact was concerned that the failure described in the recall could cause a crash and stated that the manufacturer should have all parts available. The contact did not experience a failure. The current mileage was 82,000.

Since I have gotten the ima battery upgrade the car battery completely discharges randomly several times a day. When the battery discharges the car looses a significant amount of its acceleration. It frequently looses all bars on the battery gauge, signifying a recalibration event. When this happens, the car is unable to accelerate at a reasonable speed since the hybrid system is trying to charge the battery instead of accelerating the car. In addition, you have to drive slowly and avoid any situations that may require quick acceleration while this is occurring or else you might be involved in an accident. I have had three incidents since this upgrade where I have nearly had accidents due to this problem.

Listing of auto problems dealer made aware of since purchase:/27/2007 left front window regulator failed: Under warranty/replaced/01/2009 ima (hybrid battery) indicator begins to drop to on bar, acceleration feels rough. Inspected but found no problems, yet auto still had same problems until it failed./10/2010 ima(hybrid battery) and engine light on, battery drops to no indication bars. Dealer reprogrammed internal software, under warranty/27/2010 left front window fell in, unable to operate, out of use until repaired (had to replace window and regulator, but window not broken, dealer insisted had to replace both). Charge $431.68, dealer states no longer under warranty, yet same window had failed on 12/27/2007./26/2010 ima (hybrid battery) software updated again, had been done 07/10/2010. Still under warranty./09/2010 ima failed (hybrid battery) and engine light on. Dealer replaced ima battery, under warranty. First reported concern to dealer 05/01/2009. Two updates to software attempts unsuccessful. Recall documented by Honda.//18/2010 left front wheel bearing failure. Charged $48.69 to diagnose. Dealer asking about $400 to repair. Unable to afford dealer cost, repaired elsewhere. Have learned there may be a recall on same issue NHTSA #: 07V399000./15/2011 gas cap door lever failed. Unable to open gas cap door to pump gas. Mechanism broke that has cable traveling from driver's seat to gas cap door. Had to dismantle component from within the trunk to open. I was at a gas station when this happened at night. Dealer is not open at this time. Very concerned with car's multiple function failures. Non of which have been caused by driver. As can be noted, the items that have failed could all lead to emergency situations. Have all receipts to verify the above. Need help. Please.
