Original owner of my 2007 Honda Civic Si. I have done every oil change myself with synthetic 5W-30 Oil. I added 4.6qts per the service manual and changed it at 6,000 mile intervals. I am not an aggressive driver and the car was well maintained. I noticed around 88,000 miles I burned a little oil 1/2 qt. No big deal. Each oil change it was getting worse. When I was around 110,000 miles, I noticed the oil down to the lower hole on the dipstick at 3,000miles. Now at 129,000 miles, the car is burning a full quart every 1500 miles. It is not the PVC valve as I changed it and the valves were serviced at 105,000 miles. It is not the valve guides as there is no cloud of smoke out the exhaust at start up. I am guessing it is the rings as Honda has had problems with newer cars. There are no leaks. My previous 1994 Honda Civic Si went 223,000 miles only burning a 1/2qt every 5,000 miles. I am very disappointed at how much oil my car is consuming. I skeptical to buy another Honda again.

HELP! HELP! HELP! My car is consuming WAY too much oil. I use fully synthetic and have my oil changed regularly. I was told there was a recall but can't find anything that backs that claim. PLEASE, if anyone has any suggestions I can use all the help I can get! I'm going thru at least 2-3 quarts of oil every 800-1000 miles. It isn't leaking, its just consuming an exorbitant amount. SERIOUS SUGGESTIONS ONLY PLEASE! Thank You!!

When I first bought the care with 57k miles on the clock & a full service, the oil level light came on after 2k miles (which I topped up). Over the next 5 years, the oil consumption got progressively worse, until I eventually sold the car with 91k miles on the clock. The oil consumption at that point was around 1 litre of oil every 300 miles. Always filling with the correct grade fully synthetic oil, with various brands tried.
