Driver side safety pretensor malfunctioned. This issue caused the airbag to not work if in an accident. Honda should replace any safety issues with any vehicles. I had to get it replaced by a Honda dealership costing 430.00.

Seat belt light for the passenger side. Not all the time. It's intermittent it does not happen ever time. I had the air bag changed..after that this problem started. Dealer said they will not cover it under warranty.

The SRS light sensor on 2007 Civic LX stays on when driving.
- West Linn, OR, USA
While I was driving the seat belt deployed and locked up on me and I wasn't in a crash. I had already had it replaced (paid about $700) and it locked up (deployed) again without a crash. Honda refuses to cover it. One Honda dealer had me drive to another (without a working seat belt) and neither dealer will cover it and Honda corporate said it will not be covered.

I hit a pothole and the airbag was deployed.
- Brooklyn, NY, USA
The seat belt forcefully locked up while I was driving. Very scary. I could not loosen it. I pulled over and after a few minutes my brother in the passenger seat was able to help me unbuckle it. There was no crash. It just locked up without warning while I was driving. I didn't hit a pothole or a curb. Seems like a safety issue that Honda might have tried to take care of but they won't cover the costs of repair since it is out of warranty.

The SRS light on my Honda was on for the past month. This is a known issue that is affecting lots of Honda Civics of 2006 and 2007 that Honda refuses to acknowledge. The wiring harness has to be replaced and the passenger side weight sensor, which is close to a $2000 repair. When I asked Honda corporate (customer service [xxx] at 800-999-1009) I was arrogantly told they do not care because the car is outside of warranty. It is disgraceful that Honda markets safety in their vehicles, but does not stand behind their SRS system failing prematurely. This is not a wear and team item and no one sits in my car besides me. There should be a safety recall on this since airbags will not deploy whether or not we wear seat belts. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Driver's side seatbelt frayed. Taken to dealer for repair and was told that seatbelt being caught in the door caused the damage to the seatbelt. The seatbelt does not retract fully, so this may be causing the belt to be closed in the door. The seatbelt material should be strong and durable and should not be damaged by a door. This is a tremendous safety concern and should be addressed. An order for the replacement parts was not completed by the dealership, so of course, parts were not available at scheduled appointment for repair. The vehicle was forced to leave the dealership, with a faulty safety component of the car (seatbelt) and no guarantee of driver safety and proper function of the seatbelt if involved in a crash. Cost is not an issue, since the safety of family comes first and owner im willing to be responsible for charges since this was not covered by a warranty. Scheduled with another dealership for repair.

The dealer replaced my passenger seat. After that my SRS warning light went off. It's been cycling on and off for years now. I was too frustrated at how I was treated at the dealership to go back at the time. Now I went in because I need to pass inspection and they tell me my whole SRS system has had an internal error.
