I had the dealership tell me several times that the problem didn't exist, until finally I got the service manager to drive it home. That is when he was able to witness the issue and went on to fix it under warranty. They replaced the 3rd gear set and said it was fixed. About 10,000-15,000 miles later, the issue came back and it still acts up to this day.

At times it would be hard to shift into third. Other times it would feel as if you were in, then once the clutch was released you hear the painful GRINDDDDD sound. Problem got more frequent as time went on so I took it to the dealer while still covered under the 3 yr /36000 drive train warranty. At first the shop did not want to fix because it was intermittent and they could not replicate problem. But when I pointed out a TSB had been issued, they fixed it and 40,000 miles later I have not had a single issue shifting into 3rd or have not heard the horrible grind.

Car pops out of third gear/grinds fairly regularly- posts all over the www about the issue- people say changing trans. fluid helps but Honda East dealer pretends it does not exist- won't do anything- even though their own service writer suggested a fluid change!

My tranny is slipping. I think after it shifts down like a manual which its not... its an automatic, it hesitates until it hits a certain rpm level... it acts up when it is at full operating temperature... after I get out of the car when I drive it for awhile, I get this awful burning smell... but I know my cars not going to catch fire... I would just like to get rid of this sh*t box or at least somebody fix it for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
