Civic LX 1.8L 4-cyl

According to my mechanic the power steering rack is seeping, the symptom I've only experienced is some commonly heard faint but screeching noise when I've turned the wheel all the way to either side. It's not very noticeable and I rarely do this anyway except when I don't think I'll make a u-turn.
