when i purchased the car they offered me a free tires for life program as long as i kept up with the oilchanges and tire rotations. I've been in contact with the dealership for over 2 months trying to get them to replace the tires. today i saw the honda TSB 8-001 which mentioned a faulty/too short upper control arms adn bolts. this isnt the first situation ive ran into honda about, but it definitely is the most frustrating.

I bought 2008 Honda Civic new in May 2008.By May 2009 my car sounded like a Sherman Tank.I took car to a local tire shop thinking the tires were out of balance and they told me I needed 4 new tires.I told them to put the tires back on and I went back to the dealer.They said the tires were cupping and that I didn't rotate my tires enough.That cost me 350.00 and away I went.Now it is a year later and I am once again driving the same Sherman tank.I am taking the car to another Honda dealer.competition with the dealer I bought it from to see if they can tell me what the problem is.Once again,I will be buying a new set of tires.I guess you have to figure buying tires every 20,000 miles or so.I will let everyone know what this dealer tells me.

I purchased my 2008 Honda Civic in June of 2008. By April 2009 I had the same noise. I thought my tires were not secured. I took my vehicle to a local Honda Dealership and was told I needed front brakes. $170. About 2 weeks later, same noise. I took it back to Honda and they stated that there was a "cupping" issue on 2007 models but not 2008 so...not covered by warranty. They stated that what I needed to do was an alignment and that would solve the issue. $90. Not only did it not solve the issue but it made it worse. I researched it online and found that once a cupping issue occurs...the only resolve is to replace the tires. I am currently in the process of trying to get my money back as well as report them to BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair). As a single mother that depends on her vehicle...I refuse to put up with this.

Purchased car new in May, 2008. At 12,400 miles I noticed a roar, or loud noise from rear of car that sounded like a rear wheel bearing might be going out. Took back to dealer and was told the rear tires were "cupped". They offered to replace both tires for 50% off the $ 340.00 price for 2 tires. I told them "I don't buy my tennis shoes at Kmart, I go to a shoe store, and I don't buy my tires at a dealership, I go to a tire store".
Took car to a Goodyear dealer the next day. Owner (and friend) suggested we put a pair of Cooper tires on that are rated for 75,000 miles. We installed these tires and he recommended that we rotate tires every other oil change ( I change oil every 3,500 - 4,000 miles). (Note, sent letter to Honda and they refunded 100% of cost to replace the two tires) At approximately 30,000 miles I replaced the other two tires, and continued to rotate every other oil change.
At approximately 36,000 miles I noticed the same loud noise in the back of the car and took it back to the Goodyear dealer and had tires rotated. The noise moved from the rear of the car, to the front. The first pair of Cooper tires (put on car at 12,400 miles) were now "cupped" after being on the car for about 24,000 miles.
I sent a second letter to Honda, dated August 11, 2009, complaining about this second problem. I received a voice mail from the "Customer service representative" on approximately August 20th. In total this representative has called me three times, and I have called him back each time within 30 minutes, only to receive his voicemail. I have called him an additional 9 times, but he has not called me since September 18th. The 18th is the last time he tried to call me, and then sent me a letter (dated on the 18th) saying he has tried to call me "numerous" times and if I don't call him back within 10 days, they (Honda) will consider this issue as "RESOLVED". Do you really think I could be happy with this company?
My next step is to wait until I get my next cell phone bill, which I plan to copy and mark each of the 3 calls the "representative" made to me, and the numerous calls I have made to him, so Honda can see they really do not have a "Customer service department" that understands what there department needs to do.
Please list any tire wear problems you have had with Honda. I believe they have a serious suspension problem, but don't want to admit it!

I have a 2008 Honda civic and the rear tires are cupping and when I rotate the tires it only make it worse. It moves the cupped tires to the front and both front and rear tires roar to the point you can't enjoy the ride. I have tried different tires and also had the tire rotation checked and the reading were within the specs of the car. I do not know what to do to fix the car. I talked to Honda dealer and he said if the rear caber had the "c" stamp on the camber it wasn't the camber. By the way the rear does have the "c" stamped on it.
