Went into church one morning and when we got back into the car, the passenger side visor was broken and is hanging down. This is a concern as there have been numerous reports of the driver side visor suddenly breaking which could pose a hazard when driving and cause an accident. This needs to be recalled and corrected. I am upset that I will be charged for something that is obviously a defective problem with the sun visor and could pose a serious hazard for drivers.

2008 Honda Civic sedan 65000 miles. Driver side sunvisor imploded. Will not stay up against the roof anymore. The sunvisor is visibly split near the mount to the roof. This is the first time and will require a new sunvisor.

For the second time since buying this car new the driver-side visor has split in half. The separation occurred at the seam where two plastic parts are joined. The visor will no longer snap into its proper position and hangs down, obstructing visibility and creating a driving hazard. The first incident occurred at approximately 30,000 miles. It has broken again at 50,000 miles. This apparently is a chronic problem on this make and model.

Driver side visor hinge broke and visor swung down and will not stay up. I didn't even pull it down. It fell when I was going over a speed bump at a low speed! the visor now blocks my view when driving.

The visor on my 2008 Honda Civic will not stay up. It looks like a defect on the left-hand hinge. The hinge is split open and makes the sun visor drop. After looking on the internet, it seems to be a manufacturer defect since a lot of other Honda owners seem to have this problem. Potentially dangerous since the visor continually falling blocks my vision through the windshield. If I swing it to the left, it blocks the view from the drivers side of the window.

Both driver's and passenger's side visors split open almost simultaneously. Today (6/5/2011) was fairly hot (in san antonio tx), while driving, I pulled the visor down due to the brightness of the sun and the bright reflection of the sun from another car's windows. My daughter did the same thing also. Almost at the same time, when adjusting the visors back up, there was the sound of a "pop" and the visors would not stay up. This became a safety problem as it would dangle in the field of vision all the time. The plastic appears to have split down the center joint along the length of the visor

The driver's side sun visor is defective and one day just swung down, partially blocking my vision. The plastic parts split open and the rod is partially exposed. This is a safety issue while driving because it will not stay up in its closed position -- until I get it fixed, the visor is either down in front of my face, or if I swing it out of the way, down, blocking my left vision. There is basically a sun visor in my face all the time while driving, even if it is night - the most dangerous time. I have to constantly swing it out of my face, or out of the way - even just to get in or out of the car.

I own a 2008 Honda Civic with 42K miles and live in las vegas, nv. Recently, my passenger side sun visor split at the seam. This effectively makes the visor always stuck in the down position. I would consider this a safety hazard, as it blocks my view at night since I am unable to keep it in the upward position.

The sun visor in my 2008 Honda Civic has fallen apart. I am the only driver of the car and under normal wear and tear it would not stay up out of my way. After a month like that it just fell off completely. This occurred around 32,000 miles. After investigating online it seems like a common problem that will cost more than $100 to fix. I have seeing because of the glare of the sun.

My sun visor cracked at the hinge over a year ago and since that time it would repeatedly fall in my face blocking my line of sight. Many times it even hit me in the head. Honda wouldn't pay to replace or fix it. I finally removed it since it obstructed my view of the road so now I have the sun in my eyes. I am not apt to buy the same part again as I've seen hundreds of postings online about Honda Civic owners who have experienced the same problem. There needs to be a recall of this visor and Honda needs to replace these parts in all Civics with functionable parts.

The sunvisor on the passenger side broke and was replaced about a year ago, the replacement recently broke and needs replaced at my expense. The visor hang down in the drivers field of view and is in the position that a person of average or above average height can strike their head upon in the event of a crash or even entering and exiting the automobile.

I've noticed several complaints about broken sun visors. My 08 Civic hybrid got a crack in the driver side visor. Prior to that, it was always very hard to swing the visor to the side or to clip it back in. Maybe something was too tight, and that's why it eventually cracked. My dealership replaced it because the car was still under warranty. However, if it had happened a couple months later they wouldn't have. Sounds like there's a defect in the visors and Honda needs to replace them even if the car is out of warranty.

My 2008 Honda Civic, I have to change the visors(both driver side and passenger side) for the third time in less than 3 years. I had to change the visor every year and I had enough of this none sense. I have to drive 20 miles to fix the problem and I just don't like it.

Both visors in my 2008 Honda Civic ex model melted or broke and now cannot close away posing as visual impediment. I called a Honda dealership to see if they'd fix it because I learned from family members and friends with the same problem with their 2008 Honda Civics that dealerships in their town fixed it for free. My dealership said they hadn't heard of the problem and refused to repair.

I got in my car and pulled down the sun visor on the driver's side and it broke. I tried pushing it back up against the top lining, but it kept falling down. The driver side sun visor broke while adjusting within normal operation. The visor now hangs loosely in the upright locked position, causing an obstruction for head motion. While in use to block the sun, the visor hangs lower than designed and obstructs vision.

I purchased my 2008 Honda Civic LX coupe on November 25th, 2009. When I purchased it, it had approximately 12K miles. In the summer of 2010, both of my sun visors broke. It appears that the swivel part of the visor wasn't lubed good enough and so it snapped the visors open. It broke the plastic part that help it all together. It has not been replaced. It costs about $50 each visor. Dealer refused to replace it because it is not covered under their warranty.
