steering wheel cover is coming off steering wheel cover is coming off steering wheel cover is coming off

So my issue is with my steering wheel. I brought it to the dealer and was told it'll cost me $500+ because my warranty has expired. At that time, it was barely 2 months over the expiration date. They asked if I park in the sun a lot.... in sunny California. In the end, I did nothing. The problem is still there.
