I am the second owner of this vehicle. The original owner never got the warranty extension letter despite what Honda said about sending it out back in 2012. There was an extended warranty for the cracked hood paint and trunk chrome rust but it expired (5 months ago) on me by the time my car started showing symptoms. Called Honda Canada and they gave me the round around to take pictures of the issue at a Honda dealer and in return they will make a consideration review with my case due to the low mileage of vehicle and year. After taking time off to visit a Honda dealer, I called back Honda Canada for an update. Lo and behold, my case was quickly dismissed without first reviewing the pictures that I was initially instructed to have a dealer assess it. It was due to the fact that I am outside of the warranty period... It was clear from the beginning with Honda Canada that I am outside of the warranty period... and that is why they want the photos and estimate by a Honda dealer to prove that it is indeed a paint defect and not caused by rock chips or other external causes. The Honda dealer concluded it was indeed a paint defect. Very disappointed in Honda customer relations. Definitely, wasted my time. I understand I am out of the warranty period but do not tell me to go fetch you a photos and estimate then dismiss me immediately without looking at looking at it first. I know this is true because I called my dealer who have taken the photos to confirm if they have sent it yet. Will never buy another Honda due to this bad experience.

I have a very nice Honda.. .. It's not my first Honda.... .there is a reason I bought another Honda. . .they are good cars.. . . but I travel down the road looking like I'm driving a clunker when I'm not... .the paint peeling/chipping gets worse every day and I can't seem to get a Honda Dealership to help me fix this issues.

At first, they tried telling me that it was normal wear and tear (chalking and chipping on roof) but I mentioned articles that I read online and they eventually took care of the problem. Now there is a similar problem on the front fenders and they are pulling the same nonsense. So I will have to argue with them again in order to get the problem resolved.

In all honesty, I think it really boils down to a level of incompetence on the part of the individuals working at Yonkers Honda. They are unprofessional at best and at worst, just plain ignorant. I had to wait more than 20 minutes for assistance because I was only allowed to see the person who made the appointment for me. Turned out she was outside smoking a cigarette. Unbelievable.

After doing much research, I found that tons of people with my make and model are having an issue with the paint chipping on the hood of the car. It looks awful and depreciates the value of my car. I emailed my dealership to see if there were recalls on this and he flat out said there were none. That was a lie. I am not paying to fix a manufacture error in the car. This should get fixed by Honda since they know there is a major defect in the paint on the hoods of the car.

I purchased a new 2010 Honda Civic and after the first month of ownership noticed that two large chunks of paint were missing on the driver's side. When I went to the dealer for the first service visit/maintenance I assumed they would address the paint issue when I brought it up. They said it was probably from a rock and they recommended I purchase touch up paint. I know what a 'rock ding' looks like but this is definite chunks that have chipped out of the paint. I also own a 2007 Honda Civic that never showed this kind of paint damage so early in the game. I believe Honda knows about this issue and just refuses to address it by taking ownership.
